JAMMU, Aug 12: J&K United School Teachers Association has strongly condemned the Government move on screening of ReT teachers and termed the order in this regard as unjustified and disgraceful doubting integrity of teaching community.
A meeting of JSTA was held under the chairmanship of provincial president Hari Singh, who lamented that instead of taking action against the institutions, which are responsible for issuing fake degrees, the Government was harassing builders of nation. Further, by closing large number of schools and issuing such illogical orders, the Government is encouraging privatization of education, he alleged.
The meet also condemned alleged pick and choose adopted in recent transfers whereby blue eyed officers were rotated  within zero to 10 kms whereas those working away from their residences for  the last more than four years, have not been transferred.
The USTA also highlighted some other demands, such as adjustment of all Masters in one go, whose DPC was made in February 2014, regularization of all ReT, who have completed their five years in service, Senior Teacher grade to trained undergraduate teachers, filling up of all vacant posts of Headmasters, regularization of Lecturers, Headmasters and Principals, release of salaries under SSA, RMSA and NPS etc.
