NEW DELHI, June 13:
Sarod virtuoso and composer Ustad Amjad Ali Khan called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. The veteran musician has presented his book ‘Master on Masters’ on the lives and times of 20 greatest icons of Indian classical music, to Mr Modi, the PMO said in a statement.
The music doyen is the recipient of the UNESCO Award (1970), Padma Vibhushan (2001), UNICEF’s National Ambassadorship (1996), The Crystal Award by the World Economic Forum (1997); and Honorary Doctorates from the Universities of York in 1997, England, Delhi University in 1998, Rabindra Bharati University in 2007, Kolkata and the Vishva Bharti (Deshikottam) in Shantiniketan in 2001, among several other honors.
