UT administration must relax norms for COVID-19: BJP

JAMMU, Aug 28: BJP has appealed the Lieutenant Governor for relaxation of norms for COVID-19 being followed in Jammu & Kashmir.
The demand was made by All Cell incharge, Rakesh Mahajan along with Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, convenor J&K BJP Industries & Commerce Cell, Sham Lal Langer and co-convenor, Sanjay Mahajan at a press conference here, today.
Rakesh Mahajan expressed grave concern over different norms being followed by the district administrations from one district to another district in Jammu and Kashmir with regard to imposed restrictions and lockdown measures. He urged UT administration to look into the matter and issue directions for following uniform system.
He said that most of the business depends upon the pilgrimage and the traveling from one State to another State is still under restriction. He expressed his concern over interstate and intrastate travel restrictions and appealed the UT administration that these restrictions should be lifted in the larger interest of public and particularly for business community.
He urged the UT administration that the opening timing of shops should be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. as the business community has suffered huge loss during the Pandemic.
He also urged the Government that the week end lockdown should immediately be withdrawn as the whole business community have already suffered huge economic losses.
Sham Langer said that the dry fruit business holders of the Jammu and Kashmir whose business establishments are under lock till date and the stock of their dry fruits have rotten which costs a huge amount. He urged the LG administration to issue directions in this regard to the concerned authorities to assess the loss of dry fruit business holders and provide adequate compensation to them.
Langer further urged the UT administration over the bank loan interests and fixed charges of electricity bill with extra duty charges being charged to the business established consumers and industries should be waived off as there was no business during the last five months.
He said that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has set an example of selfless work for the nation and under his dynamic leadership he is very keen and work tirelessly for the peace, progress and development of Jammu and Kashmir.
