JAMMU, Dec 23: Former Minister and senior NC leader Ajay Sadhotra today said that due to scarcely and unscheduled supply of drinking water, the people of Jammu North Assembly Constituency are facing acute drinking water crisis and the dilapidated condition of roads is causing innumerable problems to the people and the ‘Double Engine Sarkar’ of BJP is not taking any effective measures to redress these issues.
Addressing public meeting in Kangar area of Jammu North today Sadhotra said the administrative insensitivity and callous approach has pushed the residents to the wall, as nobody feels accountable. The UT administration infact, has failed to provide basic amendities to the public. The inertia of the service providing departments has attained alarming proportions, he added.
Sadhotra said the National Conference will continue to fight for larger interests of the people and ensure that their problems are resolved by the administration. The strength of the party emanates from the people at ground zero and there is a need to channelize this support for the betterment of the people, irrespective of caste, creed, region or religion.
He said the NC has all along cherished the great values of the pluralistic ethos that has actually been a binding force between the regions and religions. This spirit has not only to be sustained but promoted in a big way to keep at bay the divisive forces, he added.
The NC additional general secretary exhorted the cadre to fan out in their areas and galvanize the party at the grassroots level. The politically empowered people hold key to change and given their sagacity and sense of understanding the day is not far when they will become the masters of their own destiny again.
He said the people were the real fountain of power and the power is not to rule but to serve humanity. This has been the core of the political philosophy of the National Conference, he said and called for strengthening the cadre at all the levels.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Pt Thoru Ram Sharma, Ghar Singh Chib Ex-Corporator and Provincial joint secretary, Rakesh Sharma District YNC president, Ch Mohd Saleem and Sahil Pandit.
