JAMMU, May 28: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) expressed its grave resentment, dismay and annoyance over the delaying tactics adopted by UT Government in settling the issues of displaced Pandits especially the package employees as they are facing harassment at every now and then through the hands of UT authorities and they are being treated as second class citizens.
KPC chief, Kndan Kashmir in a statement issued here, today alleged various riders have been imposed by the authorities either in the recruitment process or promotions of migrant employees. He expressed his serious concern the way the names of 26 junior engineers appointed under package and those of accounts cadre employees were eliminated from the promotion lists under flimsy grounds just to deprive these hapless people of the chance of marching ahead in their career.
Kashmiri said this all is being done under a sinister design and it is unfortunate that the BJP which had time and again claimed to settle the all issues of the displaced Pandits with their honourable and dignified return to Valley has failed to provide justice to the package employees.
Kashmir made an appeal to both Prime Minister, Narendra Modi as well as Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Secretary of UT urging them to look into the matter and issue directives to concerned officers to settle the issue in the interests of natural justice failing which the community will be forced to construe that all promises and claims made by the BJP since 1990 with it were totally hollow and baseless.
He said if such a maltreatment the displaced employees will get under the BJP rule in the UT will these hapless people get ever justice is a million dollar question. He said the employment package was a cruel joke with the community and instead of building their future it is all set to ruin the future of promising youth of the community.
