Vaccinating 15-18 age group will be big respite to parents: Arvind

JAMMU, Jan 3: Jammu and Kashmir BJP secretary and Vaccination Incharge, Arvind Gupta, while expressing gratitude to Narendra Modi Government and the UT for launching the vaccination for 15-18 years age group, said that it will cover a large population and give respite to the parents who were most concerned for their children.
In a statement, Arvind Gupta, said that the decision of the Government to start vaccination for this age group will not only be one more step towards ensuring the benefit of dose to the uncovered children but also free parents of the worries related to their safety and well being.
Arvind Gupta, who has been coordinating the vaccination exercise with the UT administration on behalf of the party, informed that after its launching on January 03, a target of 8.33 lakh has been fixed, which will be completed in ten days time. The Health Department has collaborated with the Education Department, under which first dose of COVAXIN will be injected to the students in the school premises itself. Moreover, this facility can be availed by non school going children in the already established vaccination centres across Jammu and Kashmir, he added.
Arvind further shared that those born in 2004 or earlier will be benefitted by it and appealed the people to strictly follow the COVID Appropriate Behaviour in view of the reports of Omicron variant of the virus.
Gupta said that those falling in the fixed age group, will be given second dose after 28 days.
