Vaccination campaign for bedridden patients, journalists demanded

JAMMU, May 16: Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray J&K unit has demanded a special vaccination campaign for the bedridden patients and journalists.
In a press conference here today Shiv Sena J&K president, Manish Sahni said it seems that the government has forgotten the bedridden patients who deserve priority in vaccination.
He also demanded vaccination for media persons and said that during the ongoing pandemic many journalists have lost their lives due to Corona infection while carrying out their duties as frontline warriors in hospitals and other places.
The Shiv Sena leader claimed that doctors and experts believe that people suffering from other diseases have suffered the most during the pandemic and regretted that till date the government has not rolled out any plan for the vaccination of bed-ridden sick people.
Quoting data released by the National Health Mission, Sahni said that 93 per cent of those who died in the last 30 days in J&K due to COVID-19 were not vaccinated.
He urged upon the Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha to immediately issue directions for special vaccination campaign for journalists and those who are bedridden due to illness.
Shiv Sena general secretary, Vikas Bakshi and chairman, Rakesh Gupta were also present in the press conference.
