UDHAMPUR, Nov 6: On the second day of ongoing six days Annual Vertical Interaction Course on “Tactical Preparedness for Counter Terrorism” , ADGP (HQ) PHQ, Dr. S.P Vaid, IGP Kashmir Zone, S.M Sahai and Additional Director Revenue Intelligence, Delhi, Deepak Garg delivered lectures on the topics ‘Citizens involvement as tool to fight terrorism, Hawala: a financial life line of terrorism and its severance and Local police: capability preparedness as first responder respectively’.
The course is being organized in collaboration with BPR&D, MHA Govt. of India New Delhi and Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) Udhampur at SKPA Udhampur, the course is being attended by senior officers from the rank of ADGP to SPs from all over India.
The objectives of the course is to prepare the police for being more responsive towards protecting the fundamental rights of the public, to deal counter terrorism in a integrated and systematic way and capacity building of police officers, to deal with the Naxalite violence etc.
Seventh in series, the course was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Central University Jammu, S.S. Bloria, at Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur on Monday.
The prominent speakers who addressed the gathering on the first day of the course include DGP (Retd.), M.M. Khajuria, IGP (Retd.), Farooq Ahmed on the topics ‘Leadership in Police and Socio- political response to terrorism respectively’.
Among others, ADGP, North Zone Kozikode, Kerala , Rajesh Dewan, ADG Coastal Security Group Chennai, Dr. C. Sylendra Babu, IGP, AP/IR Kashmir, Rouf-ul-Hassan, Director SKPA Udhampur, Farooq Khan and other IPS officers from State and other parts of the country were present on the occasion.
