Vaishno Devi gets season’s first snowfall; Mughal Road closed

JAMMU :  The upper reaches of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Cave Shrine yesterday received season’s first snowfall while the famous Mughal Road has been closed for traffic in view of  snowfall.
“The Trikuta Hills of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine received season’s first snowfall,” an official here today said.
He said despite snowfall, pilgrim from across the country, are visiting the cave shrine to pay obeisance.
The rush of pilgrims is expected to increase in view of snowfall in the Trikuta Hills.
Meanwhile, famous Mughal Road has also been closed for traffic movement to avoid any untoward like incident.
“As 50mm to 300mm snow depth has been recorded at various locations of the Mughal Road, so the road has been closed for vehicular traffic,” added an official.
