KATRA, Apr 23: A young girl died and four members of a family on pilgrimage to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, were seriously injured when their car collided with a Traffic Police crane at Moori near Katra, this morning.
The victim family from Nurpur in Himachal Pradesh was returning home after paying obeisance at Mata Vaishno Devi shrine when their car, bearing registration number HP38G-2021, collided head on with a Traffic Police crane ( JK02CM-6937) at Moori, Katra .
After the accident, the victims were rushed to CHC Katra where doctors declared one of them as brought dead. She was identified as Shivani, age 21 yrs, daughter of Saroop Singh.
All the other injured were referred to GMC Jammu for advanced treatment. They were identified as Vivek Kapoor (43), son of Vinod Kapoor, his wife Monika Kapoor (age 42 yrs), their daughters Muktika Kapoor (20) and Rashita Kapoor (11).
