JAMMU, Oct 8: A Shri Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrim was found dead at Panjgrain area falling under the jurisdiction of the Nagrota Police Station here today, officials said.
P Vamadevappa (61) son of P Nagendrappa of Harapanahalli, Devangere, Karnataka, was found unconscious under mysterious circumstances at Panjgrain Nagrota today, they said.
“He was rushed to the Government Medical College Jammu in the NHAI ambulance, where doctors declared him as dead on arrival,” said police.
While the body of the deceased has been shifted to the mortuary of the hospital for conducting the post-mortem. Nagrota Police Station has launched inquest proceedings to ascertain the reasons behind the mysterious death of the pilgrim.
