Those who are part of this Jammu and Kashmir Bachao Forum (JKBF) are- former ministers and senior leaders Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak, Abdul Gani Vakil, Syed Gowhar, former MLC- Syed Mohammad Rafiq Shah and social activist, Irfan Hafeez Lone.
Addressing press conference here, former minister, Abdul Gani Vakil said that dialogue process initiated by the Govt of India is a welcome step but only if it yields result. “The initiative must yield result otherwise, it will be tantamount to rubbing salt on wounds of people,” he said.
“The interlocutor must talk to all the stakeholders including separatist leaders and Pakistan so that the stalemate over the JK’s nature would end,” he said.
“We have seen interlocutors in the past as well. They formed different committees but what happened to them is known to one and all. We really welcome it if the Centre is really serious this time,” said former Congress leader Abdul Gani Vakil.
He said that they have come up with the front to fight against evil designs of politicians. “We will fight against evil designs of politicians who have ruined the State for their vested interests.
Vakil said that the dynasty rule should come to an end as they have been befooling the people of Kashmir from past more than four decades. “Jammu and Kashmir is in danger due to the politics played by the dynasty Government so far. The State is heading towards devastation due to the politics played for their vested interests,” he said.
He said that the Govt must release all Hurriyat leaders so that their participation in dialogue process is ensured.
Gulchain Singh Charak said their party is “apolitical” and its sole purpose is to make Jammu and Kashmir free of family politics. Charak said people of Jammu have equally suffered like that of Kashmir and the only way forward to address their “genuine aspirations” is to find an amicable solution to the issue with the inclusion of all stakeholders. He said next party meeting will be held in Jammu and then in all district headquarters for chalking out the future strategy.
Charak has been appointed as patron of Jammu Kashmir Bachao Tehreek, Abdul Gani Vakil  as president, Rafiq Shah will be its general secretary, Syed Gowhar as secretary and Lone as chief spokesperson.
