Vakil for probe into assets of politicians, bureaucrats

RAFIABAD, Mar 3:  Member AICC and former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today appealed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to set up an independent commission to probe into the disproportionate assets of ministers, Ex-Ministers, legislators, politicians and other public servants across the board.
Addressing public meetings at Rawoocha and Nadihal Rafiabad in district Baramulla, he said that the menace of corruption had reached to a level where it was endangered the coexistence and harmony amongst the various sections in the society and same needed to be tackled seriously.
Mr Vakil said Congress can’t be silent on the issue of corruption, which has made life of poor people miserable and Government should leave no stone unturned in eradicating this menace so that common man gets justice.
Besides others who addressed the gathering include Ghulam Nabi Shah, Haji Mohammad Afzal Khan, Pandit Brij Mohan Nehru and Tariq Ahmad Mir.
