Valley docs to donate one day salary

Srinagar, Sept 19: President Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) Dr Nisarul Hassan today said that doctors of the Valley will donate one day salary for rehabilitation of flood victims.
“DAK has decided to open a bank account in which doctors will credit their one day salary”, Dr Nisar said.
Dr Nisar met EJAC president Qyoom Wani and requested him that all the employees should also donate their one day salary towards flood victims. He also appealed overseas Kashmiri doctors working in various countries to donate generously for rehabilitating families of flood victims.
“People are requested to add chlorine to drinking water and use bleaching powder to surroundings as disinfectant to prevent any epidemic of water borne diseases like cholera, typhoid, leptospirosis and hepatitis. People can have chlorine tablets from nearby medical camps or can have them from NIT Hazratbal medical camp where I am personally stationed”, he said.
In the meantime, police today deputed teams for clearance of garbage in some flood hit areas of Srinagar.
A police spokesman said that several teams of police along with trucks and tractors were deputed in flood affected areas in and around Batamaloo, Sher Garhi and Sonwar areas to clear the garbage from the main roads.
“Contingents of Police and Traffic police were deputed for traffic regulations in Reki Chowk Batamaloo, Magarmal Bagh, Sher Garhi and Parimpora”, the spokesman said.
Police Hospital Srinagar established a Medical Camp at Batamaloo and wherein patients were, examined by a team of doctors and given free medicines.
The spokesman said: “JKAP 9th Bn organized a relief camp at Pohroo, Nowgam where essential commodities Rice, Mineral water, Milk, Baby food, Dals, Ground nut and Maggi were distributed among the flood victims. A Medical camp was also organized at the same place.”
