KARGIL, July 25: To discuss their issues, various delegations called on Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), here today.
Akbar Ali, a resident of Chuliskambo village, called on LG Mishra and informed the LG about the inquiry regarding the funds allotted for various projects under the Councillor Constituency Development Fund (CCDF) in Chuliskambo Constituency.
Mohd Hassan, a resident of Akchamal village, apprised the LG of the unit started by him under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) eight years ago.
General Manager, Industries, Kargil, Rahmatullah informed the LG that 191 cases were pending because the KVC of the beneficiaries has not been done by the agency engaged by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Advocate Syed Rohullah apprised the LG about the bad condition of the road between Megawatt to District Police Line, Kargil and requested the HLG’s intervention in blacktopping of the road.
Mirza Mehdi, who is working as a driver at Suru Valley Division, informed the LG that he is working as a driver on a daily wager basis and the driver’s post at the Suru Valley Division is vacant and requested the LG to adjust him on the vacant post of the driver.
Mohd Ismail, a resident of Chanigund village, apprised the LG of the land allotted by him for the construction of the Medical Sub-Centre at Chanigund village free of cost several years ago. He requested the LG’s intervention to provide compensation for the land.
Mohd Mussa, a resident of Silmoo village informed the LG that his house was damaged during the construction of the road at Silmoo village. He sought LG’s intervention in providing compensation to him for his house as per the new rate.
A delegation comprising members of Downhill Kargil Adventure Sports Club led by its President Imtiyaz Ali Khan informed the LG that the club has been organising sports events in Kargil. He requested the HLG for financial assistance to the club to enable them to procure sports equipment.
Mohd Hassan Pasha, BJP State Media Secretary, raised several demands, viz. Sub-Divisional status for Sodh block; early completion of lift irrigation plant at Sodh; sanctioning of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Sodh block; opening of technical and skill development centre at Sodh block and compensation to the drought affected villages of Sodh block, etc.
On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Sohail Ahmad and Additional Superintendent of Police, Kargil, Nitin Yadav, General Manager, Industries Department, Kargil Rahmatullah and other officers were also present.
