Various educational institutions celebrate ‘Quami Ekta Week’

Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Nov 24: Various institutions celebrated “Quami Ekta Week” with fervour and enthusiasm. Government Degree College (GDC), Bishnah organised a symposium on the theme “save the girl child”, in which NCC cadets participated actively and expressed their views on the growing menace of female foeticide and indifferent attitude of people towards girl child. On the occasion, Prof Kalpana Kesar, Principal of the college was the chief guest, while, NCC Care Taker Prof Preeti Dogra, Seema Kumari, Bandhu Sharma, Ashwani Raina and Dr Seema Jamwal were also present. Week long celebration of National Integration Week organised by KCS College of Education (Women) concluded today. On the occasion, Purnima Chaudhri was the chief guest. During the week-long celebration, poster making competition, food festival, silence prayer for the unity and integrity of the country, slogan writing and cultural programme were organised, in which students participated actively. Among others present were Principal OP Sharma, US Chaudhri, president, Kalamkari Centre Society, NSS Programme Officer Ruchika Chib and convener, Cultural Committee Deepti Gupta. “Quami Ekta Week” organised by NSS unit of Trikuta Degree College concluded today. During week-long celebration, NCC cadets recited hymns, haditha, shloks, teachings and verses of religious books. Suman Sharma, first lady of Shri Sain Charitable Trust, Dr Roop Lal, Chairman and Ravish Sharma, MD encouraged the students to promote the feeling of communal harmony among all. Dr Gayatri Gupta, Principal of the college and Arti Sharma were also present. NSS unit of Government Degree College celebrated the Flag Day with enthusiasm and zeal. On the occasion, NSS cadets collected Rs 11,500 from the students and staff for national funds for communal harmony. Dr Nater Singh, Principal appreciated the efforts of the NSS cadets for raising funds for the needy. Prof Raj Kiran, Dr Suman Sharma and Prof Naresh Sharma were also present. Government Higher Secondary School, Jakh, district Samba organised a rally on Communal Harmony and National Integration, in which NCC cadets and students participated actively. Principal Vijay Kumar Bhagat flagged off the rally in presence of NCC Officer Gulshan Sharma. Government High School, Kawa Zone Jib, District Udhampur celebrated National Integration and Communal Harmony week. In this connection Debate, Symposium and various sports competitions were held and also a rally was organized around the village Kawa in which students participated actively. The students also recited the poems of National Integration. Headmistress, Neelam Sharma stressed on the need of mutual brotherhood and communal harmony to strength the National Integration. Week long Communal Harmony week organised by Government Higher Secondary School, Krimchi, district Udhampur concluded today. On the concluding day, a symposium competition was organised, in which students expressed their views. Principal in his speech conveyed the message of brotherhood to strengthen National Integration. Government Higher Secondary School, Barmen, Udhampur organised a symposium on Communal Harmony, in which students participated actively and expressed their views. On the occasion, Vice Principal of the school Amar Paul also expressed his views. In the symposium, Rakesh Kumar, Ajay Singh and Veena Devi emerged winners. Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Nud, District Samba organised a seminar on “Communal Harmony and National Integration”, in which students participated actively. On the occasion, District Development Commissioner was the chief guest, who delivered lecture on Communal Harmony. Leh Raj Raina, organizer of the seminar presented vote of thanks.
