JAMMU, Jan 27: Various educational institutions celebrated Republic Day with patriotic fervour and zeal.
65th Republic Day was celebrated at University of Jammu with patriotic fervor. Prof MP Singh Ishar, Vice Chancellor, unfurled the National Flag at Fountain Plaza and released the tricolour Balloons. Addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor said that each one of us must contribute in nation building in own humble ways. Earlier Prof Pankaj Srivastava, Dean Students Welfare, delivered the welcome address. At the arrival of the Vice-Chancellor, Guard of Honour was presented by the Jammu University Security Personal led by Captain SR Dubey, Security Officer. A Cultural item was presented by the twinkling kids from the University of Jammu. Prof Neeru Sharma, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee, Apoorva Jamwal, Secretary, SCC, Prof Neelam Saraf, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof Kulwant Kour, Dean Research Studies, Prof. MK Dhar, Registrar, Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Rector, Kathua Campus, Prof VD Singh, Director, Directorate of Distance Education, Prof Dhian Singh Bhau, Director, Sports and Physical Education, Prof Dalip Singh, President, JUTA, besides many others were present on the occasion.Prof Ganai, President, KUTA, Jaikumar Sharma, Sp. Secretary to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Prakishat Singh Manhas, Associate Dean (SW), Dr. Abdul Rashid Manhas, Assistant Dean (SW), Dr. Yudhbir Singh, Assistant Dean (SW), Directors of the Offsite Campus, Heads, Faculty Members, Wardens of different Hostels, Officers, Office bearers of the Teaching, Non-Teaching and Class Fourth Association, staff, research scholars and students of the University, were also present.
On the occasion of 65th Republic Day, Tricolour was unfurled by Prof Sudhir K Jain, Vice Chancellor of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University at the Inauguration Pavilion, University Campus in presence of Registrar, Roop Avtar Kaur, deans, directors, faculty members, staff and students. Prof. Jain dwelt upon the role of universities in achieving the desired goal.
Bhaderwah Campus, Jammu University celebrated Republic Day. On the occasion, Prof GM Bhat, Rector Bhaderwah Campus, faculty members, scholars, students of all the departments, members of non-teaching staff of the campus were present. Academic Coordinator Kuljeet Singh unfurled the National Flag, followed by cultural items by students.
Government College of Education celebrated Republic Day. On the occasion Principal Dr Kashual Samotra unfurled the National Flag, followed by National Anthem.
Government Polytechnic Jammu celebrated Republic Day. On this occasion Arun Bangotra, Principal hoisted the flag and threw light on the importance of the day. Manjeet Singh, HoD Electrical, Krishan Singh, Lecturer Civil, Rakesh Kakkar, Sports Teacher and students were also present.

Government Middle School, Khearian celebrated 65th Republic Day. Students took part in march-past and also presented colourful programme. Incharge Principal Mudhu Bala unfurled the tricolor.
Republic Day celebrations were held with zeal and fervor at Patiyari, Samba wherein Shiva Ji High School Patiyari, Modern Institute of Education, Sumb, Nav Vidya High School Thalot, Goodwill Public School, Taloor, Shanti Niketan High School, Penthi, Valmiki Public School Penthi, Bhartiya Vidya Mandir School Bain Glar and Shiv Shishu Siksha Kendra Sumb participated. Provincial Vice President, woman Wing, National Conference Satwant Kaur Dogra was the chief guest. She unfurled the tricolor. A cultural programme was present by the students.
Management, staff and students of Rich Harvest School, Bassi Kalan, Bari Brahmana celebrated Republic Day. Samar Dev Singh Charak hoisted the National Flag in presence of teacher, students and their parents.

65th Republic Day was celebrated by the inmates of SOS Balgran, Channi Rama. Rani Bloeria, MLC hoisted the National Flag. The inmates of the home presented cultural items. Republic Day was celebrated at Government Boys Pahari Hostel, Shastri Nagar. Kafil-ur-Rehman, Vice Chairman, State Advisory Board for Development of Pahari People, hoisted the National Flag.
