Various KP bodies appeal community for unity

JAMMU, May 25: A meeting of various KP organisations was held under the leadership of Pintoo Ji president, Jagti Migrants Welfare Committee (JMWC) to take the stock of the recent political developments in the country and change of guard at Centre.
The meeting said that the new Government at Centre should take the community into confidence for return and rehabilitation of KPs into Valley. It said in the event of the claims made by Pakistan and various political parties within Kashmir that Kashmir is a disputed issue the fate of KPs is uncertain.
The meeting, while welcoming the initiative of new Government which will take over office tomorrow said community has many expectations from it. It however suggested that before taking any initiative the community be taken into confidence and it should be settled at a piece of land within Valley by granting U T status so that there are no apprehensions of future exodus.
Pintoo Ji appealed all the KP organizations to remain united and work for a strategic solution to their problem once for all. He expressed apprehension that after NATO withdrawal from Afganistan, it would have the negative effects on Kashmir.
Veer Ji Belove of JMWC urged and warned pro-community elements should not hamper the interests of the community for their vested interests.
Others who addressed included Ravi Zutshi , S.L Koul (Secular Front), Roshan Lal (Voice of KPs), Ravinder Kumar (Relief Holders Association). Daya Krishan President TRT Purkhoo, Aryan Ramesh (AIKS), Chand Ji (Co-ordinator PK unit Jagti) Ashok Kumar Dhar representative from TRT Muthi.
