JAMMU, Jan 27: Like other parts of the country the 65th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour by the people across the Jammu region yesterday.
The 65th Republic Day was celebrated by Chamber of Commerce and Industry with traditional gaiety. President Chamber, YV Sharma, unfurled the National Flag which was followed by singing of National Anthem. Addressing the members, Sharma highlighted the achievements made by the country after Independence. He expressed hope that in the near future, Jammu & Kashmir will again assume the pivotal position in the Indian economy. He also asked the members to be united and work with dedication, transparency and sincerity to serve the Nation and the society.
State Human Rights Watch also celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm at its Headquarter here. The National Flag was unfurled by the chairman of the organization which was followed by singing of National Anthem. Several activists participated in the function and threw light on the importance of the Day. Addressing the activists, BL Kapoor, its chairman, said that the Day has great importance for every citizen and advised all to imbibe the spirit of patriotism in them.
The Day was also celebrated with enthusiasm and gaiety by Adarsh Bhartiya Samaj at Bhour Camp in Jammu. Ex-Hav Labhu Ram Sharma hoisted the Tricolor on behalf of Samaj. Children presented various cultural items like group dance, group song, patriotic poems etc. Dr Daljeet Singh, president, Bhartiya Adarsh Samaj, spoke on the importance of the day.
The Republic Day was also celebrated by PHE Workers’ Welfare Association, Jammu Province at PHE City Sub-Division, Dhounthaly. KK Gupta, Chief Engineer, PHE Department, who was the chief guest, hoisted the National Flag. In his speech, the Chief Engineer advised the employees to perform their duties with full dedication.
Public Health Engineering Employees Welfare Association, Jammu Province, celebrated Republic Day in a colourful function held at PHE Rural Division Complex, here at BC Road. KK Gupta, Chief Engineer, PHE Department, who was the chief guest, hoisted the Tricolor. He advised the employees to perform their duties honestly to serve the Department and the general public.
Kashmir Dramatic Club, Udheywala, celebrated the Republic Day by organizing flag hoisting ceremony here at Tumal. The Tricolor was unfurled by Club president, PN Hakim. Various types of cultural programme and patriotic songs were presented by the student artists on the occasion. Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha, celebrated Republic Day at Mahajan Bhawan, here at Shalamar Road. President of the Sabha, Vinod Gupta, along with chief patron, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, hoisted the Tricolour. This was followed by National Anthem. Speaking on the occasion, Vinod Gupta, Amarnath Gupta and Chander Mohan Gupta enlightened the gathering about the importance of Republic Day.
All J&K Christian Forum celebrated the day with great zeal at Amphalla Chowk near District Jail, Jammu. State president of the Forum, Markes Gill, unfurled the National Flag on the occasion, which was followed by National Anthem. Later Gill distributed sweets among the gathering and blankets to the poor people.
On the auspicious occasion of 65th Republic Day, Residents of Ward No 21, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, organized a Flag hoisting ceremony here at Laxmi Narayan Temple Chowk. Senior BJP leader, Indu Bhushan Sharma, who was the chief guest, hoisted the Tricolor and distributed sweets among the people as well as students, who sang patriotic songs.
The Republic Day was celebrated by Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) at open auditorium, Durga Bhawan, Janipur. Senior Congress leader, Surinder Singh Shingari, was the chief guest, while former Regional Director of Directorate of Field of Publicity, Government of India, VK Magotra, was the guest of honour. The Tri-colour was hoisted by Shingari, who in his speech highlighted the importance of the day. The artists of BLSKS enthralled the audience by presenting traditional cultural programme.
Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society celebrated Republic Day by hoisting the National Flag at main Chowk, Sector 6, Mini Market, Trikuta Nagar. Chairman of the Society, BD Gupta, unfurled the Tri-colour, which was followed by singing of National Anthem and devotional songs.
Indian Red Cross Society, District Branch Jammu and Childline Jammu, celebrated Republic Day with fervour and enthusiasm. The National Flag was hoisted by Suresh Sharma, Executive Secretary, district Branch Jammu and Yougal Mahajan, life member of Red Cross society, district Branch Jammu. Students from Jagriti Niketan, Oriental Academy and Government Middle School Kachi Chawni, showed their performances to the gathering. Nutrition and prizes were distributed to the children by Red Cross Socirty. Special gifts were also given by Childline Jammu to the children.
Upper Roop Nagar Sector-4 Welfare Committee celebrated Republic Day by hoisting the National Flag at an impressive function held in the recently developed Roop Nagar Hill Park. President of the Committee, Narinder Sharma unfurled the National Flag. Patriotic songs were sung and sweets were distributed among the gathering.
State Samaj Kalyan Kendra Higher Secondary School celebrated Republic Day in the School premises with great enthusiasm and gaiety. Inderjeet Khajuria, president of the Kendra, hoisted the National Flag and led the assembly in the National Anthem sung in unison with full vigour. This was followed by a short address to the gathering by JK Vaid, general secretary of the Kendra and distribution of sweets.
On the eve of Republic Day, an impressive function was organized by Indian National People’s Welfare Society, an NGO, at Ram Lilla Ground, Bahu Fort, where president of the Society, Karam Kand Patyal, in the presence of huge gathering, unfurled the National Flag. Sweets were distributed among the students, who earlier sang patriotic songs.
Bharat Vikas Parishad, Jammu West, along with the residents of Sarwal Colony celebrated the 65th Republic Day here at Green Belt Park, Sarwal. ID Soni, a noted Educationist and Commissioner, Scouts and Guides, J&K, who was the chief guest, hoisted the National Flag. This was followed by singing of National Anthem and then patriotic songs by Arya Kanya Group.
Durga Nagar Welfare Committee also celebrated the Republic Day with great enthusiasm. President of the Committee, RL Raina along with general secretary, ML Pandita and D N Kissu chairman ADKUF and Prof G L Koul its advisor unfurled the Tri-colour, which was followed by singing of National Anthem. In his speech, RL Raina, advised the people to preserve the sanctity of the country and remain united for the betterment of the Country.
Dream City Welfare Association Muthi celebrated the 65th Republic Day with great fervour and gaiety today. On the occasion National Flag was hoisted by BJP leader and former Corporator Omi Khajuria in presence of president of Association J L Ambardar and prominent citizens of the area. This was followed by singing of National Anthem and distribution of sweets among the gathering.
Jammu Welfare Organization (JWO) organized a grand function to celebrate the Republic Day today under the presidentship of Kasturi Lal Gupta who also hoisted the National Tricolour at Roop Nagar Enclave, Durga Nagar Lane Number 3, Khatri Mohalla ad Block B Roop Nagar Enclave. A large number of the residents of the area attended the function. At Lane 3 president of the Committee Prof J L Kaul and its general secretary Chand Misri were also present.
All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AMCCC) led by Desh Rattan and Raj Nath Dhar in collaboration with all organizations of migrants held a grand function at Jagti township yesterday to celebrate the 65th Republic Day in which MLC Vijay Bakaya was the chief guest who hoisted the National Flag. A large number of people attended the function. On the occasion Prof A N Sadhu former HoD J U, Department of Economics, Ravinder Bakshi Headquarter Assistant Relief and Rehabilitation Organization and Rajinder Kilm, Zonal Officer were honoured.
Aar Kay Accounts Consultancy an institute of commercial accounting in the State celebrated the Republic Day today with great pomp and show. The Director of the Institute, R K Bakshi along with staff and shopkeepers of Jewel Bazaar, Jammu attended the function. Sweets and fruit were distributed among the people.
JDA Housing Colony Welfare Association Roop Nagar Jammu organised a grand function at JDA Club Roop Nagar in which former Minister R S Chib was the chief guest who hoisted the National Flag. This was followed by singing of National Anthem. The children of the local schools sang the patriotic songs on the occasion.
Kashyap Rajput Sabha Moti Bazaar Jammu held a grand function to celebrate the Republic Day in the Bazar. The function was chaired by Murari Lal Balgotra president of the Sabha who hoisted the National Flag on the occasion. A large number of people from Kashyap Samaj including the office bearers of the Sabha attended the function.
An impressive function was organized by the inhabitants of Ward Number 30 at JMC Park Talab Tillo to celebrate the 65th Republic Day yesterday. Social organization for Cardinal Human Values (SOCHV) celebrated the Republic Day with over 100 under privileged children. These children showed their creativity in an art workshop organized by the NGO to give them confidence to choose, education in life. A special function was held in which tributes were paid to freedom fighters. The children recited the patriotic songs on the occasion.
New Young Blood Organization celebrated the 65 the Republic Day with inmates of Old Age Ambphalla and children of Ved Mandir here yesterday. The function was led by chairman of the organization Ashok Verma who hoisted the National Flag on the occasion and also fruit were distributed among the inmates of Old Age Home and children of Ved Mandir by the volunteers of the organization.
Anti Corruption Anti Crime Cell J&K also celebrated the Republic Day in its branch office here. Raman Pawa chairman pf the Cell, Gurpreet Singh Dutta, president and Kamal Wadhera, general secretary hoisted the National Flag.
The Republic Day was celebrated with great pomp and show at Sabzi Mandi Kali Janni here. S Amrit Malhotra ,Chairman J&K Legislative Council was the chief guest on the occasion while Vikram Malhotra senior Congress leader was the guest of honour. The function was organized by National Festivals Celebrating Committee Sabzi Mandi. Little Champs of the area presented the colourful programme on the occasion which was witnessed by a large gathering. Mrs Bhalla paid floral tributes to Father of Nation and freedom fighters. She also hoisted the National Tricolour. On the occasion of Republic Day yesterday at Chatha Panchayat Avtar Singh (Shanty) chairman of the organization unfurled the National Flag. People from all walks of life including children attended the function.
