Various organizations commemorate World Theatre Day

JAMMU, Mar 27: Various organizations commemorated World Theatre Day.
Five-day ‘Natrang Theatre Festival’ started here today with the staging of the play ‘Apne Hi Putle’ at Natrang Studio Theatre, Jammu. Organised in commemoration with the celebrations of World Theatre day, the festival features five directors with five different plays representing their respective styles and choice of themes. While speaking, founder of Natrang, Padamshree Balwant Thakur highlighted the importance of theatre in the development of the society. Prominent among those present at the occasion were Rakesh Gupta, Principal Secretary Forests. The first play of the festival ‘Apne Hi Putle’ written by Yogesh Tripathi and directed by Neeraj Kant was staged today at Natrang Studio Theatre. Natrang actors who performed in the play were Mahikshit Singh, Syed Mudassar, Juhi Singh, Masood Qadir, Rajan Thakyal, Shubham Soni and Shekhar Sharma. The lights were operated by Ankush Lakhnotra and music was scored by Neeraj Kant. The show was coordinated by Aarushi Thakur.
Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) in coordination with Unison Cultural Troupe and Sangam Tru Art Production celebrated 10th Foundation Day and “World Theatre Day”. The chief guest was VK Magotra, Former Regional Director of Field and Publicity, Government of India, who inaugurated the musical play “Sari Sanjj” in presence of Sajad Poonchi, President of Cultural Forum, Tara Singh Charak, Former Deputy Director of Health Department and Jai Kishan Raina, Director Producer of Films, Jammu, and others. Earlier, ML Dogra, Chairman BLSKS presented the welcome address. The artists, who participated in the programme were Usha Handoo, Raju Bajgal, MC Kotwal, KK Joshi, Hem Raj, Neelam Gandotra, Kamli Devi, Master Kartar Chand, Kuldeep Raj, Avtar Kour, Santosh Bandral, Zulakha Farid, Shivani Disgotra, Rajni Gupta, Sunil Kumar, Sooraj Sharma, Ghanshyam Yadav, Chahat Chadha, Deevam Jandiyal, Sant Das, Kousal Ree, Rakesh Katoch, Muskan Koul, Rakshit Sharma, Dhruv Pandit, Pranavi Khajuria, Rajanya Khajuria, Samarth Gupta, Sanam Gupta, Vansh Raina, Megha Raina, Abhyud, Rajveer, Vandana Gupta and Bhumika Chib.
Samooh Theatre staged a new play “Urgent Meeting” directed by Ravinder Sharma to commemorate World Theatre Day. The play “urgent meeting” has been written by the writer Jaivardhan. The artist who performed in the play were Neha Kesar, Kanika Sharma, Rohit Chib, Rajat Gupta, Sandeep Thakur, Samdhish Kumar, Sandeep Manhas, Kartik Singh Saini, Vishal Singh and Ravinder Sharma. The play was choreographed by Rohit Bains, while music was operated by Aditya Pandita, make up by Shammi Dhamir and Gautam Kumar.
Pir Panchal Organization organized a meeting to observe World Theatre Day at Radio Sharda 90.4 FM. The meeting was presided over by Ramesh Hangloo, founder director, radio sharda and President, Pir Panchal Organization. On the occasion, Bihari Kak, Asha Zadoo, Shadi Lal Koul, Makhan Lal Saraf, Manoj Jad and JK Raina were felicitated.
