Various organizations condemn killings at Ramban

JAMMU, July 18: Various organizations condemned the killing of people at Gool in district Ramban.
In a statement, Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz, Member Parliament and president, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) condemned the killing incident at Gool, district Ramban and asked the Chief Minister to order judicial probe. He also requested the Chief Minister to call an all party’s meeting so that recurrence of such violations of human rights will be stopped completely.
Provincial President National Conference, Devender Singh Rana expressed deep grief and shock over the loss of precious human lives in an unfortunate incident at Gool. In a statement, Rana hoped that the inquiry ordered by the Government would be carried out in shortest possible time. Provincial President made a fervent appeal to the people to maintain calm and composure in this hour of grave grief.
Strongly condemning the bloodbath in Gool, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) today said human life in J&K has been devalued completely as a result of callousness of Government and a license to kill that has been granted to police and security forces. In a statement, the party president Mehbooba Mufti said the cold-blooded murder of people and wounding of many others without any provocation is heartrending. Expressing solidarity with the bereaved families and condoling the death of their loved ones, Mehbooba said her entire party is shocked by today’s incidents as the loss suffered by the victims is irreparable.
Prof Bhim Singh, chief patron, National Panthers Party (NPP) also condemned the killing of innocent villages of Gool in district Ramban and demanded judicial inquiry by a sitting Judge of the Supreme Court. Prof Singh also demanded compensation of Rs 50 lakh to the families of those killed and Rs 10 lakh to the injured persons.
Strongly condemning the civilian killings in Gool Ramban, CPI (M) State Secretary Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has termed it worst instance of misuse of powers at the hands of those who are bound by law to protect the lives of citizens. In a statement, Tarigami said, demand for a judicial probe in such incidents has lost its meaning and the Government must now ensure that the culprits are identified and booked without any time buying tactic.
People’s Democratic Front president Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen and its general secretary Abdul Qayoom Mir have condemned the civilian killings in Gool Ramban and termed it most unfortunate. The leaders have demanded a judicial probe in the incident to identify the culprits without any delay.
Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry condemned the massacre of innocent people at Gool in Ramban. KCC&I called upon the entire trade fraternity of Kashmir to be united in this hour of grief and extend full support. KCC&I demanded probe in the incident and exemplary punishment to the killers.
A meeting of District Congress Committee Kissan Majdoor Cell held under the chairmanship of its president Sayed Peer Gulzar Shah condemned the Gool incident. Sayed Peer Gulzar demanded stern action against culprits and maintenance of law and order.
Jammu and Kashmir Forest Employees Federation has strongly condemned the civilian killings in Gool Ramban. In a statement, senior vice president of the Federation Mushtaq Ahmad demanded judicial probe in the incident.
