Various organizations condemn terror attack

JAMMU, Mar 20: Various organizations condemned the terror attack in district Kathua, in which five persons including 3 security personnel were killed and 12 others were injured.
Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad condemned the terrorist assault carried out by the infiltrators at Raj Bagh Police Station. Azad conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the security personnel who lost their lives in the dastardly act and sympathies to those who got injured. Azad called upon the State Govt to sanction adequate ex-gratia relief for the kins of those who lost their lives and compensation for injured. Expressing doubts on Pakistan’s intent and sincerity to have friendly relations with India, Azad said that such terrorist incidents and unabated ceasefire violations should be an eye-opener for the NDA Government and that it should move forward cautiously and consistently in its over-enthusiastic quest to improve relations.
BJP State Chief Spokesperson Sunil Sethi while addressing a press conference along with State spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan said that such attack has again given blow to the peace process with the neighbouring country and sent very wrong signals across the people of the country, especially when the Central Government has been putting its best efforts to bring peace and normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir. Declaring that the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre will adopt a strong stand on occurrence of such incident, Sunil Sethi said that the anti-India forces, within and outside India should understand it well that Narendra Modi Government will not be cowed down by such dastardly acts nor will tolerate any such attacks.
Ghulam Ahmed Mir, President Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), along with several party leaders on Friday, visited Government Medical College Hospital Jammu and enquired about the health of Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel injured in the terrorist attack. He asked the doctors about the status of injured and directed them to extend best Medicare to them for their early recovery. JKPCC President strongly also condemned the terrorist attack on Police Station Raj Bagh, Kathua. He said that such inhuman acts on the part of neighbouring country not only derails the peace process but affect the normal lives of those who have nothing to do with these issues. Later, a meeting was held under the leadership President JKPCC in which senior Congress leaders including Nawang Rigzin Jora, Leader CLP, Hari Singh, Ghulam Nabi Monga MLC, GM Saroori MLA, Abdul Rashid MLA, Usman Majid MLA, Mohammad Amin Bhat MLA, Gulzar Ahmed Wani MLA, Manmohan Singh, besides many others who paid tributes to the martyred CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel, who lost their lives in this terror attack.
Awami National Conference (ANC) has condemned this terrorist attack. Provincial President, Gian Singh described the terrorist strike as cowardly, and added that there is need to take concrete steps to avoid such incidents in future.”
National Panthers Student Union NPSU today held protest against the militants attack in Raj Bagh, Kathua. The protestors burnt the effigy of Coalition Government and held the Union and State Governments responsible for the security lapse resulting in the loss of several precious lives. Addressing the protestors, Virender Singh warned the Government to stop talks with separatists in order to maintain peace and harmony in State.
Jammu Province People’s Forum (JPPF) held a meeting under the chairmanship of its working president MS Katoch and requested Government of India to take stern action against the miscreants and give befitting reply to Pakistan Government on this aspect so that no similar incidence could take place in the State/Country.
Aarakshan Virodhi Party also condemned the militants attack and said that the attack is the result of wrong policies adopted by Central and State Governments towards militants.
Shri Ram Sena also condemned the militant attack. SRS State president Rajiv Mahajan said that militants have once again made their presence felt and asked the State Government to take adequate measures to strengthen the security network and check such attacks from happening in future.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad condemned the terrorist attack at Police Station Raj Bagh during a meeting. The meeting was attended by Dr Sham Lal, general secretary, Rajesh Gupta, senior vice president, Dr JP Sharma, president, Jammu Mahanagar besides other office bearers and Bajrang Dal activists. During the meeting, State VHP team has decided to take up the matter with Union Home Minister Raj Nath Singh. VHP demanded strict combing operation in entire Jammu-Kathua belt, identification and ousting of illegal Bangadeshi and Burmese immigrants, increase of vigil and presence of armed forces in entire J&K.
Duggar Pradesh Party also condemned the terror attack on Raj Bagh Police Station. Uday Chand, President of the Party urged Prime Minister to send a delegation headed by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah, former Chief Ministers, CPM legislature Mohammad Yousaf Taragami, Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz, former president, JKPCC and Hurriyat leaders to Pakistan to use their good offices for ending the ongoing terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir and rest of the country.
Terming Kathua attack as dastardly and cowardly act, senior leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Vikramaditya Singh has asked authorities to provide adequate relief to the victims of the attack. In a statement issued here today, Vikramadiyta Singh urged the State administration to further tighten security along the border belt, especially for the protection of the National Highway that runs within close proximity to the border, hence making it vulnerable to such attacks.
The activists of National Secular Forum (NSF) today held demonstration against the terror attack at Raj Bagh Police Station. The activists raised slogans against the Government and held it responsible for the loss of lives in this incident. NSF District president Amit Sanotra while condemning the terror act squarely blamed the Centre and State Governments for not taking adequate steps to prevent recurrence of such events. He further said that both the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister owes explanation to the people as to how terror attacks had taken place within the Indian Territory and how they will prevent the recurrence of such events.
Dr Manohar lal Sharma, Senior Congress Leader and Former Minister also condemned the cowardly attack of militants on the Raj Bagh Police station. He said that the policy of BJP led NDA Government is soft over militancy. The compromise of BJP on the national security is condemnable and it is expected that the more stringent steps should taken to curb the anti national activists.
