SRINAGAR, Feb 4: Various Panchayat members hailing from Halqa Gangoo, in district Pulwama joined Apni Party at its office in Lal Chowk here today.
Panchayat representatives who joined Apni Party included Ghulam Hassan Mir, Panch Halqa Virchera); Mohammad Ishaq Ganie, Ghulam Mohammad Ganie, Nigeena Hassan, Samana Zehra, Yawar Abas Nengroo, all Panchs from Gangoo Panchayat Halqa.
The joining ceremony was presided by Apni Party president Syed Mohd Altaf Bukhari, senior vice president and former minister Ghulam Hassan Mir, vice president Zaffar Iqbal Manhas, District president Srinagar Noor Mohammad and District president Pulwama, Ghulam Mohammad Mir.
Bhukhari, while welcoming the new entrants into the party fold, impressed upon them to work hard for the welfare of the common people.
“The legitimacy of a political party depends upon the works they do for the welfare of the people. The J&K region has witnessed a developmental stagnation due to empty populist slogans of certain political parties. However, Apni Party has pledged to shun hollow slogans and work at the grass root level for the betterment of people,” Bhukhari said.
