JAMMU, Jan 27: Various political parties celebrated 75th Republic Day with patriotic fervour across the Jammu and Kashmir.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) while celebrating the 75th Republic Day across the JKUT, its senior leaders unfurled the National flag at every locality, Chowk and at all the important places.
The party workers further filled the ambience with patriotic slogans and songs, while distributing sweets to mark their happiness on the occasion.
At BJP headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, J&K BJP president Ravinder Raina, former DyCM Kavinder Gupta, party general secretary Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal and other BJP leaders hoisted the `Tricolour’.
In Kashmir, J&K BJP general secretary (Org) Ashok Koul accompanied by other BJP leaders hoisted the National Flag.
At the BJP office, Kachi Chawni, Jammu, former Minister Sat Sharma, former MP Shamsher Singh Manhas and other BJP leaders hoisted the National Flag.
At the BJP office, City Chowk, Jammu, MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, Vice-President Yudhvir Sethi, former minister Priya Sethi and other BJP leaders hoisted the National Flag.
Ravinder Raina, while congratulating the people on the occasion of Republic Day said that this is the land of braves. Today, every Indian is hoisting the National flag with pride. He said that Bharat is not merely a piece of land, but our Mata. This great Nation gained freedom because of sacrifices by uncountable noble souls. To keep the Nation’s flag flying high, the Indian Constitution was adopted on 26 January 1950 and we must work together to save and nurture democracy in the Nation.
Ashok Koul at Srinagar said that the BJP hoists the National flag at various places on this special occasion. He said BJP remembers the sacrifices made by great persons in the service to the Nation and appealed to everybody else to remember their contribution. He said that J&K is progressing on the path of peace, prosperity and nationalism while defeating the nefarious designs of anti-national forces.
Kavinder Gupta asked all to pledge for the unity and integrity of the Nation. He said that India is progressing forward under the strong leadership of Modi while remembering our freedom heroes and we must work together to make our Nation stronger.
Sat Sharma said that on such occasions as Republic Day, it becomes the moral duty of every citizen to take a pledge to safeguard the national symbols and promote the cause of unity and oneness among all the countrymen.
Shamsher Singh Manhas stressed upon the young generation to learn the supreme sacrifices of countless Indians who left the luxuries of life and jumped into the freedom struggle to attain freedom from the clutches of the British.
BJP senior leader and former Minister Rajiv Jasrotia unfurled the National flag at BJP PRO office Kathua to mark the Republic Day on Friday. Several party leaders and party workers were present on the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, Jasrotia said that India is the largest democratic country and has great and rich history. He said many people sacrificed their life for the freedom of the country. Their role will always be remembered by the people of this great nation.
BJP spokesperson and Chairperson of JK Waqf Board Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi today unfurled tricolour at a special event held at Waqf Central office at Jammu and felicitated the best performing employees of the Board during the past one year.
Chief Executive Officer of the Board Dr Syed Majid Jehangir, Administrator Jammu Mudassir Iqbal & Tehsildar of the Board for Jammu province Fareed Ahmad were also present on the occasion. She presented a special award to the CEO Dr Jehangir for his contributions.
Dr Andrabi in her address said that India has the honour of being the mother of democracy and our Constitution reflects our civilizational belief in democracy and equality of all citizens. Paying great tributes to our Constitution makers, Dr Andrabi said that we are fortunate to have the world’s best Constitution with us and this has helped us in nurturing our value systems and our democratic institutions.
Former Minister and senior BJP leader Ch Sukhnandan unfurled National flag at Gajansoo Marh besides other locations in presence party functionaries and workers and sung National Anthem. He also addressed the gathering and recalled the sacrifices of the national heroes in freedom struggle.
Former MLC and senior BJP leader Vikram Randhawa, unfurled tricolor on the occasion Republic day at Last Morh Gandhinagar, Jeevan Nagar, Digiana, Trikuta Nagar, Channi, Narwal Balla, Railway Station, Transport Nagar and other locations in presence of party workers and functionaries.
BJP senior leader and convener, Tourism Cell of the party, Ravi Bakshi unfurled Natioal flag at Sainik Colony, Channi Himmat, Greater Kailash, Chowadi, Kunjwani and Trikuta Complex BC Road, Jammu to mark the Republic Day celebrations. Several party functionaries and workers joined the celebrations. Sweets were also distributed on the occasion.
Congress Party held Republic Day celebrations across the UT of J&K by unfurling the National flag at PCC office Jammu and Srinagar besides all district and block headquarters and other prominent places in different parts.
JKPCC chief Vikar Rasool Wani unfurled the National Flag in Jammu at Shaheedi Chowk in front of PCC headquarters in the presence of all senior leaders including working president Raman Bhalla , senior vice presidents Th Balwan Singh and Ravinder Sharma, vice presidents Ved Mahajan, Vinod Sharma, Rajnish Sharma, senior leaders Shashi Sharma, Pawan Raina, Narinder Gupta, T S Tony and Gurbachan Rana and others.
DCC president Jammu Urban Manmohan Singh, Seva Dal Chief Vijay Sharma, PYC president Aakash Bharat, senior leader Gurdarshan Singh, Tamana Heer and large number of other Congress leaders and workers also attended the function.
Addressing the gathering Vikar Rasool Wani recalled the history of freedom struggle and the sacrifices of the crores of countrymen under the leadership of Congress party led by Mahatma Gandh and other stalwarts like Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru, Sardar Patel, Maulana Azad, Netaji Subash Chander Bose, Dr BR Ambedkar, Shaheed Bhagat Singh and others.
JKPCC also celebrated Republic Day at Srinagar Party office and unfurled the tricolor followed by the National Anthem sung by the Party leaders and workers.
In a function held at Srinagar Congress office to mark the 75th Republic Day, JKPCC senior vice president GN Monga in presence of dozens of Party leaders and workers unfurled the tricolor. The participants celebrated the event with great enthusiasm and greeted each other.
They also distributed sweets on this occasion and vowed to fight for safeguarding the Constitution while expressing serious concern over the misadventure to assault and undermine the constitutions by the ruling dispensation at Centre.

JKPCC general secretary Shashi Sharma unfurled National flag in a function held at Bishnah. A large number of party workers and BCC functionaries were present on the occasion.
National Conference Provincial president Rattan Lal Gupta and additional general secretary and former minister Ajay Kumar Sadhotra stressed the need for preserving and promoting the secular ethos, saying unity in diversity is the biggest strength of the nation.
Unfurling tricolour on 75th Republic Day at party office here, Rattan Lal Gupta greeted the people on this auspicious occasion and exhorted the people to maintain harmony and strive for peace and unity.
Sadhotra greeted the people on this occasion and hoped that they will work for strengthening the bonds of amity and tranquility-the hallmark of Jammu and Kashmir glorious pluralistic ethos.
Ajay Kumar Sadhotra and Rattan Lal Gupta hoisted tricolor at Indra Chowk. The function was organized by Chander Mohan Sharma District president Jammu Urban.
Another function at Vishavkarma Chowk, Digiana was organized by Ch Aslam Khan Adv where tricolor flag was hoisted by Rattan Lal Gupta.

NC District president Sunil Verma unfurled National flag at Udhampur town in presence of party functionaries and workers. The sweets were also distributed on the occasion. Capt Paviter Singh, Siraj Din and Gurmeet Singh were also present on the occasion.
Apni Party vice president and former Minister Ch Zulfkar Ali today hoisted the National Flag at Apni Party Office premises, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu on the eve of Republic Day celebrations.
The tricolour was unfurled amid the enthusiasm and zeal among the party leaders who gathered at the Party office to celebrate the Republic Day that started with the hoisting of the National Flag. The leaders sung the national anthem while sweets were also distributed among the participants.
Speaking on the occasion, Ch Zulfkar congratulated the countrymen and hoped that the celebrations of Republic Day would be path breaking for the country to bring the people from religion or regions together. He said that the celebrations of Republic Day remind us about the sacrifices and always respect the constitution of the country that has protected the rights of all the people equally.
State general secretary the Party, Vijay Bakaya also spoke on the occasion while elaborating the importance of Republic Day and how the day should be celebrated.
Meanwhile, Provincial president Jammu and former minister Manjit Singh also addressed the gathering while underlining the constitutional values in a democratic country like India.
The Party leaders including Trade Union, Transport Union, Women Wing, SC-ST Wings, Youth Wing and heads of Frontal Organisations were also present on the occasion to celebrate the Republic Day.
Besides, Manjit Singh also hoisted the national flag in Vijaypur and other places to mark the celebrations.
Similarly, the Apni Party leaders in RS Pura, Domana, Jammu South, Aquaf Market – Gandhi Nagar, Vivekanand Chowk, Jammu East, Jammu West, Chowala, Marh, Paloura, Subash Nagar, Raipur , Old Jammu City, Shaheedi Chowk, Akhnoor, Udhampur, Kathua, Samba, Rajouri, Reasi, Poonch, Kishtwar, Doda, Bhaderwah and Ramban also celebrated the Republic Day.
Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) State president Darshan Rana hoisted the national flag at Party headquarters at Narwal Satwari here along with Party senior leaders and several workers of party frontal organizations.
BSP chief while addressing remembered the great contribution and sacrifices of those who attained freedom for the nation. He referred to the historical role of the great stalwarts of the freedom movement.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included party BB Thapa, Gurbaksh Gourav, Sunil. Majotra, Raja Singh, BD Bhagat, Jagdish Bhagat, Surinder Kumar, Tara Chand, Ghar Chand, Kuldeep Chalotra, Chaman Thapa, Kartar Gandhi and others.
DPAP Zonal president and former minister Ch Gharu Ram unfurled the National Flag at RS Pura along with office bearers of the party Including Jung Bahadur, GL Chamda, Prakash Chand Dingra, Yash Pal, Dr Som Nath, Neeraj Choudhary and others.
While speaking to the gathering Ch Gharu Ram said Ghulam Nabi Azad is the only person who can up bring the weaker sections of the society and resolve the basic issues of the society including unemployment.
