Varshik Hawan of Mata Durga solemnized

SRINAGAR, Apr 10: Varshik Hawan (yearly) of Mata Durga was solemnized on occasion of Navratra at Durga Nath Temple Srinagar by Durga Nag Trust led by Vijay Bakaya.
As per the statement of the Trust, the Hawan started on yesterday evening of Saptami with Kalash Pooja and culminated on Ashtami with Puranahuti which was followed by Prashad vitran.
On the occasion, a large number of devotees took part in the Hawan which was performed for the Jagat Kalyan. The religious discourses along with Bajan Kirtan continued in the temple since yesterday evening. The Hawan was performed by Jotshi Avtar Krishan Shastri. The general secretary Dr RL Dhar including trustees Prof BL Zutshi, CL Razdan, MK Jalali, Behari Kak and others were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Ramnavmi was also celebrated in the Durga Nag today with Kanya Puja and serving of Prasad to devotees who from different parts of Srinagar thronged the shrine.
Ramnavmi was celebrated at Jagatamba Shrika Chajreswar today where hundreds of devotees thronged from early in the morning and participated in Puja Archana. The Chakreshwar Sanstha had led by Ranit Gurkha had made all arrangements for devotees. The prashad was served to devotees in a traditional way after Puja Archana. The rush contined upto late in the evening.
