JAMMU, Dec 9: The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY), a transformative initiative dedicated to comprehensive development, covered hundreds of additional Panchayats across Jammu and Kashmir today.
In Jammu’s Suchetgarh Block’s Chakrohi Panchayat, Roshan Lal, a senior citizen, vividly recalled the dire times when t he kachha roof over his head offered little protection to his family from the relentless monsoon rains, forcing nightly bed shifts and makeshift rainwater collections in their humble abode.
Echoing a comparable story, Bholaram, another resident of the block also revealed his struggles due to lack of a decent home and life under leaky roofs.
Enter the silver lining – the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Both Roshan Lal and Bholaram, alongside countless other untold stories, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the government for the shelter provided by this transformative government initiative.
These narratives unfolded during the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Block Suchetgarh, at the Government Boys Primary School Bokari in panchayat Chak Baja. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from various government departments, with on-the-spot services benefiting local residents.
Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra also reached Panchayat Panjgrain of Block Nagrota in District Jammu.
The VBSY Van was welcomed in the Panchayat by the members of the Swagat Committee and PRI Members of Panchayat Panjgrain.
The message of the Prime Minister was displayed on the van in the Panchayat followed by the Sankalp Pledge taken by the people to make India a developed Nation by 2047.
In Samba, a grand Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra was held at the historic Mohargarh Fort in block Nud of the District.
Deputy Commissioner Samba Abhishek Sharma; ADC, Suresh Chander Sharma; BDO, Mukesh Sharma and other officers were also present on the occasion
The aim of the Yatra was to generate awareness regarding the Government’s welfare schemes and policies and achieve 100% saturation of government flagship schemes
The people of Mohargarh welcomed the IEC vans with enthusiasm and participated in the scheduled activities.
The extensive outreach programme, Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, made an impactful stop in Panchayats of Blocks Bani, Marheen, and Barnoti blocks of Kathua District. The Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) van traversed through Chandal, Kanthal, Roulka, Doulka, Chak Haria, Chhan Lal Din, Chak Desa Choudharian, Khanpur, and Borthain North Panchayats, engaging with diverse sections of society.
Beneficiaries from all walks of life, encompassing farmers, women, patients, youth, and marginalized segments, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the government for the invaluable support extended through various flagship schemes and initiatives.
In Udhampur District, the campaign extended its influence to 12 additional Panchayats in Chenani, Panchari, Dudu, Tikri, Ghordi, and Majalta Blocks.
With enthusiastic participation from diverse stakeholders, the campaign is effectively disseminating crucial information about government schemes, fostering heightened awareness among the public.
The day unfolded with Health camps, vibrant cultural performances, and outreach activities in these Panchayats, delivering on-the-spot services to the community. The primary objective of this outreach initiative is to empower citizens, encouraging them to actively contribute to the country’s development.
Expanding its reach in Reasi District, VBSY covered six additional Panchayats, illuminating the spirit of progress through cultural displays and success stories. The Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign effectively disseminated information about various beneficiary schemes.
Ukhral block of Ramban District witnessed the VBSY covering 86 Panchayats, showcasing a vibrant and celebratory event with cultural displays and success stories. The Yatra aimed to reach the unreached and maximize the impact of government schemes.
Mountainous District Doda witnessed a transformative wave through VBSY, raising awareness about ongoing government initiatives for holistic development. The Yatra served as a platform to educate locals about developmental programs.
In Kishtwar, the VBSY drew an impressive turnout in urban areas, aligning with the “Kishtwar Festival.” Over 5000 citizens gained profound insights into the impact of Centrally Sponsored Schemes through engaging IEC activities.
The outreach extended to Budhal block in Rajouri District, highlighting the 72-day campaign’s aim to promote Government schemes and create direct interaction between the Government and beneficiaries. IEC Van traversed Panchayats, fostering awareness about schemes and ensuring no deserving individual or community is left behind.
In Srinagar, the PHE Department, under VBSY, created awareness in rural areas about water quality monitoring and e-billing. Appreciation letters were distributed to Pani Samiti members, emphasizing the importance of Jal Jeevan Mission.
The campaign concluded in District Pulwama, covering an impressive 148 Panchayats to date. Commencing on November 25, 2023, the Yatra aimed at encompassing all 190 panchayats within the district.
A significant event unfolded at Panchayat Halqa Newa, where Member Parliament (MP) Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Ali Khatana, graced a mega program.
The MP explored stalls from various departments, engaging with agriculture, horticulture, social welfare, employment, and banking sectors, showcasing diverse schemes and accomplishments. Notable highlights included sports activities, honoring beneficiaries, and the administration of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp pledge by MP Rajya Sabha.
In a parallel development in District Kulgam, the Director Jal Jeevan Mission, Ranjit Kumar, who is also the Prabhari Officer for VBSY, participated in the Yatra at Panchayat Halqa Katrasoo. The Prabhari Officer interacted with PRIs and locals, emphasizing the positive impact of the Yatra and the government’s commitment to holistic development.
Simultaneously, VBSY reached six Panchayats in Zainapora and Herman blocks of Shopian District, leveraging IEC vans with audio-visual equipment and LED walls to disseminate information about government achievements and welfare programs. The initiative received commendation for bringing awareness to geographically isolated communities.
In frontier Kupwara District, 22 Panchayats were covered, with IEC vans conveying the Prime Minister’s message and vision for a developed India by 2047. The Yatra, focused on saturating government schemes, gained momentum with active community participation.
In Bandipora, the VBSY reached seven different Panchayats, involving health camps, Sankalp pledges, and on-the-spot services. The Yatra empowered residents to become active stakeholders in the country’s development.
Concluding the extensive coverage, VBSY expanded its reach to 19 more Panchayats in Baramulla District. Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Vans traversed through these Panchayats, disseminating information about various beneficiary schemes to the public.
In Poonch District, the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) reached Panchayat Gunthal Lower of Block Surankote to sensitize the people, besides saturating the Centrally Sponsored Schemes in every nook and corner of the Block.
IEC Vans were accorded a rousing welcome by PRIs, senior citizens, youth, and local residents on their arrival in eight Panchayats. Under the aegis of Deputy Commissioner, officials engaged people with knowledge enriching audio-video material displayed on screen mounted on the IEC Vans.
The campaign witnessed enthusiastic participation from diverse stakeholders.
