VBSY gains momentum across J&K, Ladakh

JAMMU, Dec 20: The ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) has been gaining a momentum across Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh with people actively engaging with the Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) vans.
Traversing through the interiors of the UT, these vans have been spreading awareness about various Centrally Sponsored Schemes made for the people.
As part of the campaign, Principal Secretary, Power Development Department (PDD), H Rajesh Prasad, participated in multitude of events at Drabshalla block in Kishtwar District.
Commencing the event, the Principal Secretary inspected departmental stalls showcasing the Centrally Sponsored Schemes and providing on-the-spot services for eligible beneficiaries during the Yatra.
The district officers presented the status of implementation of various schemes concerning their respective departments in Drabshalla block and its surrounding Panchayats.
Administrative Secretary, Transport Department, G Prasanna Ramaswamy, spearheaded the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in the picturesque Gool Block of Ramban District today. With this, the campaign unfolded across 120 panchayats of the town, embodying the UT Government’s resolute dedication to rural development and the effective implementation of key welfare schemes.
Under the discerning guidance of Deputy Commissioner Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, the Yatra unfolded with a distinct focus on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for extensive awareness and optimal utilization of government initiatives in remote corners.
In Ladakh, Amit Sharma, Administrative Secretary, Rural Development Department, UT of Ladakh, who is State Nodal Officer of the VBSY campaign, presided over a comprehensive meeting in Leh to assess the status of Yatra.
He underscored the significance of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is fostering sustainable development and empowering rural communities in Ladakh. Sharma emphasized the need for seamless coordination among various departments, agencies, and grassroots institutions to ensure the effective implementation of the initiative’s objectives.
In Jourian Town of Jammu District, the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra arrived at local Government Higher Secondary School under the supervision of Municipal Committee Executive Officer, Subash Chander.
Departments from Health to Agriculture showcased their commitment through on-the-spot services, while cultural performances like Nukkad Nataks and patriotic songs and skits resonated with the audience.
Secretary Mining Department, Dr Rashmi Singh, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, expressing her satisfaction over the officers’ “activeness and enthusiasm” in sharing the information about the Government schemes with the public. Joint Secretary GoI, Kavita Garg was also present on the occasion.
In Kathua District, the yatra garnered an overwhelming response from the residents of Panchayats of Mandli, Dhar, Mahanpur, and Barnoti Blocks. Under the campaign, information related to crucial Government schemes for public welfare was disseminated among the people.
In Reasi District, the Viksit Bharat Salkalp Yatra made a resounding impact across six panchayats of the town.
There, the momentous event witnessed enthusiastic participation of District Development Council members and Block Development Council representatives, other PRI (Panchayati Raj Institution) members, and the local residents.
The yatra, spanning Bhaga, Sirla, Mahore Jmalan, Mahore Kansoli, Kanthi A, and Jerri, served as a vital platform to inform and educate citizens about the various welfare programs and flagship schemes initiated by the Government.
In Rajouri District, VBSY spearheaded the implementation of Government schemes, fostering comprehensive development in underserved areas and positively impacting residents. An IEC van deployed as part of the yatra effectively communicated and raised awareness, engaging local communities by equipping them with necessary knowledge.
Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) extended the impactful VBSY campaign to new locations within the city-Ward number 21 (Islamyarbal), Ward number 22 (Karan Nagar), Ward number 23 (Chattabal), and Ward number 24 (Bemina). The initiative’s expansion brought Government schemes closer to the residents, complemented by diverse events, including “Meri Kahani, Meri Zubaani,” allowing beneficiaries to share life-changing experiences.
Municipal Council (MC) Bandipora organised VBSY in Urban Local Bodies, including wards 1 to 5, featuring impactful events and heart-touching “Meri Kahani, Meri Zubaani,” where beneficiaries shared their experiences.
In Budgam District, the NSS unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Chadoora organized an awareness programme within the campus to guide students about Viksit Bharat @2047, the vision to make India a developed nation by 2047, the 100th year of independence.
Students of the college were informed that they are the main stakeholders of the journey ahead, and are required to share their ideas for achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
In Kupwara District, VBSY continued with enthusiasm, reaching 1.5 lac people and beneficiaries in 340 Panchayats out of 385. The campaign included health camps screening 42,906 people, 17,462 screenings for TB, awards for women achievers, students, and local artists. Notably, 242 Panchayats have been saturated with 100% Ayushman cards.
In Anantnag, the yatra marked a pivotal chapter in the pursuit of development and empowerment, with MC Anantnag continuing its engagement with the community by extending recognition to the beneficiaries of key Government initiatives at Town Hall.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, SF Hamid presided over the program and distributed certificates to beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Gram Yojana (Urban), Svaniddhi, and Jal Jeevan Mission.
Notably, appreciation letters were presented to several Gram Panchayats achieving the status of “Har Ghar Jal Panchayat” under Jal Jeevan Mission and ODF Plus under Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) Phase-II.
As part of the yatra, Mir Tariq Ali, Director General, (DG) Women & Child Development, J&K, visited MC Shopian and presided over the day-long function of the nationwide outreach program.
SSP Shopian, Tanushree; Director, Urban Development, Kashmir, Mathoora Masoom also graced the occasion and participated in multifaceted activities.
The urban outreach started at Shopian Municipal Council with the grand function witnessing overwhelming public engagement.
The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) extended its reach into the urban areas of Baramulla, showcasing an impressive level of community engagement and awareness.
The campaign’s extensive movement is aimed to enlighten the public about various ongoing Government welfare schemes, which are instrumental in fostering the holistic development of the region.
The ongoing yatra, making its way through Kunzer town within the district, presided by Sub District Magistrate Tangmarg, Syed Altaf attracted substantial public participation and garnered extensive support.
In an exquisite demonstration of transformative progress, the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) has gracefully traversed all 190 Panchayats of Pulwama District, etching a significant chapter in the narrative of inclusive development.
This monumental journey, poised to extend its reach to urban landscapes, has evoked unparalleled participation, embodying the collective spirit of the community.
At the heart of this odyssey lies the Sankalp pledge, a solemn commitment echoing the visionary ideals set forth by the Prime Minister.
As part of the campaign, Maulana Azad Memorial (MAM) College Jammu welcomed and felicitated participants in the two-week long “College on Wheels” project, Gyanodaya Express. The event, organised by Viksit Bharat@2047 Committee, NCC Naval Wing, NSS, and NSS (SFU), featured Dr Dalip Kumar, officiating Regional Director, Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Jammu, as the Chief Guest. Dr Ranvijay Singh, Dean Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu, graced the occasion as the Guest of the Honour.
Dr Vishal Sharma, Convenor, Viksit Bharat@2047, encouraged students to submit innovative ideas on the official portal. Several students shared their enriching experiences during the study tour, showcasing institute’s achievements and providing an innovative form of education.
