‘Remote areas got road connectivity in last 9 years’

UDHAMPUR, Dec 9: Terming the “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra” (VBSY), a novel concept and a big public outreach programme, Union Minister in PMO with Independent charge, of Science and Technology, Dr Jitendra Singh today said the programme, is aimed at reaching unattended sections of society who were totally ignored for last 70 years by the previous Governments.

The Union Minister who was on a one day tour of Udhampur town earlier participated in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra at Tikri near here and interacted with the beneficiaries of Modi’s welfare schemes and later he laid the foundation of various Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojnas (PMGSY) in the district.
While laying the foundation of the PMGSY projects, Dr Jitendra Singh said remote and hilly areas which were not a priority to previous National Conference (NC) and Congress Governments got road connectivity in last nine years of Modi rule.
Taking a strong dig at previous Governments for step motherly treatment to these areas, Dr Jitendra Singh said the dynastic driven parties were having no contact with the people living in backward and far off areas and hence they neglected them.
He said in comparison to that PM Modi whose mantra is Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas gave people centric model of welfare schemes and the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is PM’s people centric model of service delivery.
Dr Jitendra Singh said Modi schemes have reached to such sections which were unattended by previous Governments for political considerations.

Dr Jitendra Singh said Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra carries Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s welfare schemes to every doorstep, reaching out to the remotest Panchayat and village, and in fact the last man in the queue without any discrimination.
While interacting with the beneficiaries of various schemes under Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, Dr Jitendra Singh reiterated that it is first time in the history of independent India that the development has reached the remotest corners of the country that too without discrimination of caste, religion, creed or sex.
“This Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is PM Modi’s guarantee that every scheme must reach 100 percent saturation so that no one is left out in the country’’, he added.
The Minister said that the schemes like permanent house, tapped water connection, toilet, free treatment, free ration, gas connection, electricity connection, bank account being opened, benefits under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, PM Fasal Bima Yojna, PM Swanidhi Yojana, and PM Swamitva property cards among others.
During the interaction with the beneficiaries, the Minister said that more than 1.25 crore people have connected with Modi Ki Guarantee vehicle in a short time. Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra focuses on saturating Government benefit, making sure they reach citizens across India, he added.
Dr. Jitendra Singh said, VBSY is one of the pillars of making India a developed country in 2047 when India will be celebrating centenary of its freedom.
Earlier during the programme, Dr. Jitendra Singh distributed bicycles among girls under Khelo India and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, distribution of Kisan Credit Cards, Distribution of Vehicles under Mumkin Schemes.
Dr Jitendra Singh while laying foundation of various important road projects in Udhampur being constructed under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) said that the PMGSY under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has revolutionised the road connectivity in Udhampur district. This is the reason that the district has achieved a milestone in the country as Udhampur is among the top three districts of the country as for the road connectivity is concerned.
He said that the areas like Dudu Basantgarh, Lati Dhuna and various other far flung areas are some of the neglected blocks and areas which have been connected with all weather roads. Dr. Jitendra Singh informed that a highway is being constructed between Sudh Mahadev in Udhampur district and Khilani in Doda district. The Minister, while lauding the vision of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, said there are examples like Shyama Prasad Mookherjee Tunnel, Asia’s largest one of the example to achieve the target of Viksit Bharat in 2047.
The Minister while lauding the work in road transport sector said that the connectivity is the backbone of overall development of the nation. He said that roads in Udhampur and its adjoining districts have brought the sector on the tourism map at national level. He said specially the scope of religious pilgrimage in view of the Sudh Mahadev Temple remained unexploded during the last 70 years and the present Government by increasing the road network has successfully exploded all such avenue.
Dr. Jitendra Singh said that with these schemes the economy of the area specially the Udhampur district has witnessed a boom. He appreciated the district administration and the officers for implementing PMGSY and said that they all are doing social service and playing their role to achieve the target of development country because the road connectivity is helpful in effective implementation of schemes for education, health, social welfare and women empowerment sector.
During the programme, the e-foundation was laid for the up gradation of road from T-01 Padraka to Chattari in block Kulwantha in district Udhampur with an approximate cost of Rs. 693.80 lac having length of 4.6000 kms serving thousands of residents. Another e-foundation was laid for the upcoming gradation of road from T-16 Chopra Shop to Sunari Kambal Danga in block Udhampur, district Udhampur with an approximate cost of Rs. 1751.23 lacs having a length of 12.925 kms.
The Minister also laid an e-foundation for the upgradation of road from T-02 Tikri to Charyee via Sukha Talab in block Tikri, district Udhampur with an approximate cost of Rs.1269.25 lacs having length of 9.650 kms.
