RAJOURI, Mar 19: Vice Chancellor of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) Rajouri, Prof Jawaid Iqbal released the Admission Prospectus 2025-26.
The prospectus serves as a comprehensive guide for prospective students, providing crucial details on academic programs, admission procedures, eligibility criteria, and updates for the new session. The Vice Chancellor was accompanied by Dean Academic Affairs Prof M J Warsi and Registrar Abhishek Sharma during the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Iqbal emphasized the university’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation, stating: “The release of the Admission Prospectus marks an important step in our ongoing efforts to enhance the educational experience at BGSBU.”
Prof Iqbal also shared that BGSBU will fully implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 starting from the 2025-26 academic session, aligning its curriculum with national educational reforms. As part of this initiative, BGSBU has introduced approximately 31 new courses across various disciplines.
The Vice Chancellor said that the university will offer Four-Year Undergraduate Program (FYUP) in Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities, and Languages, reflecting its dedication to holistic and flexible education. “Additionally, undergraduate programs in regional languages such as Gojri, Pahari, and Kashmiri, along with programs in Sanskrit and Hindi, have been introduced, promoting linguistic and cultural diversity,” he added.
The Vice Chancellor highlighted that the introduction of new academic courses at the university will significantly benefit students from the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch. He mentioned that the new programs are designed to provide enhanced educational opportunities, fostering skill development and academic growth in these regions.
On the occasion, Prof M J Warsi, Dean Academic Affairs, said that the introduction of these diverse programs is in line with the vision to cater to the varied academic interests of students while ensuring they are equipped with the skills needed in a rapidly evolving world.
Sharing his views, Abhishek Sharma, Registrar, added: “This marks a significant development for BGSBU, as we not only introduce new courses but also streamline the admission process to make it more accessible for students from all walks of life.”
On the occasion, the Principals of various degree colleges of Rajouri and Poonch were also present.
