VC CUJ stresses for upholding essence of mother tongue

JAMMU, Sept 30: Vice-Chancellor of Central University Jammu, Prof Sanjeev Jain has urged working staff of the university to grasp the opportunity to learn and take advantage of the power of language which can assist in bettering one’s communication and general bonding skills, while also upholding the essence and importance of one’s mother tongue.
He was speaking at prize distribution ceremony on conclusion of Hindi Fortnight at CUJ, jointly organized by the Hindi Department and Hindi Cell of CUJ.
The Vice Chancellor expressed satisfaction on the overall spirit of participation shown by students, faculty, officers & staff, while also congratulating the winners of various events during the prize distribution ceremony.
He also acknowledged the presence of talent amongst the staff of the University, which he said should be encouraged, nurtured, and showcased.
Prof Yashwant Singh (Registrar), Prof Vinay (Department of Physics and Astronomy), Prof Vijendra Kumar (Department of Hindi and Other Indian Languages), Mohammad Iqbal (Finance Officer) and various other officers and staff members were present in the closing ceremony.
A range of competitive literary and extracurricular events such as noting and drafting, Hindi typing, poster making and others were organized to mark the celebrations. The program was conducted by Satish, Hindi Translator and the vote of thanks was presented by Dr Priyanjan.
