RAJOURI, Oct 25: Prof Akbar Masood, Vice Chancellor, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri, inaugurated three new short term certificate courses in College of Nursing BGSBU Rajouri.
The three short term courses include COVID Frontline Worker – Basic Care Support, Advance Care Support and Home Care Support in collaboration with National Health Mission, J&K which has endeavoured to train 2500 frontline COVID warriors and the College of Nursing of BGSBU is one of the training centres.
The certificates shall be provided under the Skill India Mission and the students shall be given stipend and aid during the certificate programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Akbar said that these courses have been added to meet the workforce requirements in the health sector. Terming this as a significant step in strengthening the Nation’s resolve to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, Prof Akbar said that these short term certificate courses are aimed at augmenting the health sector of the country to upgrade the skills of front line workers to fight against corona.
On the occasion, the Vice Chancellor applauded the efforts of the Principal Nursing College Dr Titi Xavier for her commitment and untiring efforts in the growth and development of the Nursing Colleges as a premier institution of health and Nursing education.
Those who were present on the occasion, included Dean Academic Affairs, Prof Iqbal Parwez, Registrar Mod Ishaq, Joint Registrar/OSD Nursing Colleges, Suneet Gupta and faculty members of the College of Nursing.
