JAMMU, Aug 3: Prof Pradeep K Sharma, Vice Chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-Jammu), today inaugurated Green Cafeteria at Faculty of Agriculture, Main Campus Chatha, Jammu.
While inaugurating the café, Prof Sharma emphasized to maintain cleanliness and high standard of hygiene in and around cafeteria. He advocated the use of biodegradable products in the cafeteria so that it will have less impact on the ecological sphere of the faculty. Dr Sharma further stressed to work on the principle of green ecology where in the impetus will be to use less energy thereby reducing carbon footprints.
Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, Dr R M Bhagat stated that faculty canteen will be run and maintained by university employees on no profit and no loss basis.
Nodal Officer Canteen, Dr Vivak M Arya assured the VC that all the valuable suggestions given by him will be implemented in letter and spirit.
Besides all the Statutory Officers, HoDs, Faculty members of varsity, the function was also attended by Dr T A Ganai (Director Education), Dr R K Gupta (Dean Faculty of Basic Sciences) Dr V K Razdan (I/c Librarian) Er Iqbal Singh (Executive Engineer), Ajay Sharma (SVC), Dr Anil Gupta (Medical Officer), Dr SB Bakshi (DSW), B N Singh (Prez NTEA-J) and president SKUAST-TAJ Dr Vikas Sharma.
The formal vote of thanks was presented by Gursanjivan.
