JAMMU, Aug 1: International Centre for Cross-Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM) premises was inaugurated at University of Jammu on the occasion of induction ceremony of the 4th Batch of MBA: International Business (MBA-IB).
Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar was the chief guest, while as the ceremony was graced by Prof Deshbandhu Gupta, Dean, Faculty of Business Studies and Director CDC, Prof Keshav Sharma, Convener, Board of Studies in Management and Controller of Examinations, University of Jammu, Prof Pankaj Srivastava, Dean Students Welfare and RK Zafrani, Xen University Works Department.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar acknowledged the efforts of Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Founder Director, ICccR & HRM for developing the state of the art infrastructure to bring ICccR & HRM at par with the best B-Schools of the Country.
Prof Ishar reflected that the world has become a global market place which is not hampered by national boundaries. He hoped that the updated Choice Based Credit Curriculum for MBA-International Business Course would keep students informed about the current business trends and the latest developments in the international set-ups.
He said that MBA-International Business programme shall infuse in the students the capability to acknowledge cultural diversity, and appreciate the issues in international business negotiations.
Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Founder Director, ICccR & HRM, presented the overview of the activities, objectives and the academic programmes at International Centre. Prof Rohmetra also announced the launch of a Journal of Management and the Lecture Series under the title and theme as “Culture, Management and Leadership Connect”. She also announced the 4th International Conference on “Cross-Cultural Management: Practice and Research”, 2014-15.
Prof Deshbandhu Gupta and Prof Keshav Sharma motivated the students to be good time managers and make use of the facilities offered by the International Centre.
The function was attended by the Management faculty members of University of Jammu, corporate guests, alumni of MBA-IB programme, and the research scholars.
It is pertinent to mention that International Centre was established in the Year 2008, with a vision to “developing people with ultimate flexibility”. The objective of the Centre has been to promote education, research, training and consultancy in the area of Cross-Cultural Management/ International Management/ International Business and Human Resource Management.
