JAMMU, Sept 12: In order to check the quality and progress of the ongoing works the Vice Chairman (VC) JDA Rajesh Kumar Shavan conducted the field visit.
VC was accompanied by Tehsildar HQ, Tehsildar JDA Zone A, Executive Engineers and the field staff.
While conducting the field visit, Shavan instructed the engineering wing to ensure the quality and timely completion of all projects. He visited Gole Gujral and took the review of the works going on in the colony for settlement of 48 cases which have been identified to be handed over in 1st instance.
The construction work of Media Complex auditorium was also inspected which is being built by Information Department through JDA at the cost of around Rs 50.00 lakh and is likely to be inaugurated on 16th of this month by the concerned Minister.
It is pertinent to mention that Shavan has also taken up the matter with the district administration of Samba for identification of 250 kanals of land at an earliest for rehabilitation of oustees of ware house. The modern ware house will be built on Jammu-Samba National Highway to shift the existing ware house wherein habitat centre is being proposed for which the JDA has even selected the technical consultancy.
The land at village Salmeri was inspected and the revenue wing has been instructed to get the papers completed at an earliest enabling the Collector JDA to set the acquisition proceedings in motion.
Besides reviewing the developmental works, the status of land demarcation and retrieval from encroachers was also reviewed and the officers have been directed to take stringent action against the encroachers of JDA land and violators of Master Plan.
Meanwhile to enforce accountability among the officers and officials, the two Khilafwarzi officers have been placed under suspension and enquiry ordered against them for dereliction of duty. They have been attached in Sub-Division Office Nagrota pending further enquiry.
