VC JKTDC inaugurates tourist bungalow at Banihal

RAMBAN, July 18:  Vice-Chairman JKTDC, Rafi Ahmad Mir today inaugurated refurbished JKTDC tourist bungalow at Banihal.
MLA Banihal, Vikar Rasool Wani, Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Tariq Hussain Ganai, Managing Director JKTDC Sarmad Hafeez and officers of other departments and general public were also present on the occasion.
Describing tourism as core industry to promote economy of the State, Mir said Chief Minister is taking keen interest in promoting tourism by making consistent efforts to involve locals in reorganizing the tourism industry.
Mir asked the stakeholders to come up with suggestions and ideas to promote tourism in the area. He said people of Jammu and Kashmir have a great history of being best hosts and their hospitality is testimony to the fact that tourists are welcome in every nook and corner of the State.
He said apart from infrastructure, tourism paraphernalia was also being developed to provide benefits to the local population.
MLA Banihal also highlighted the tourism potential of the area and urged the Vice Chairman to formulate a plan to create infrastructure at the spots of tourist attraction.
