VC Ladakh University visits GDC Drass

KARGIL, Dec 17: Vice Chancellor (VC), University of Ladakh, C. Phunchog during his visit to Government Degree College (GDC), Drass today took stock of its functioning.
The VC was accompanied by the Registrar, Imteeaz Kacho, Controller of Examinations, Deskyong Namgyal and other concerned officers.
Principal of the College, Amjad Ali, briefed the VC about present status of the functioning of the College, issues and problems, future prospects besides the expectations from the University of Ladakh.
The VC while interacting with the students and faculty members threw light on the University’s future plans and how the College could contribute towards development of higher education in the region.
The VC enlightened the students about the importance of higher and advanced learning and its impact of the socio-economic growth.
The students highlighted their grievances and the VC assured them early resolution of all the issues.
He also lauded the efforts of College authorities and students for keeping the College running even during the harsh winters.
Earlier, the Vice Chancellor visited the site allotted for developing permanent campus of GDC Drass and gave suggestions to the Principal about the alignment of buildings and the best possible ways to utilize the available space efficiently.
The VC also had a first-hand experience of how the College functioned under sub-zero conditions and how the people managed their lives.
