JAMMU, Dec 3: Newly appointed Vice Chancellor of Cluster University, Jammu, Prof KS Chandrasekar released two books and the Newsletter of the Government College of Education (GCOE), Canal Road, Jammu during an event here.
Earlier, the VC was accorded warm welcome by the staff and students of the College in a traditional Dogri style, symbolizing the rich cultural heritage of the region. The Vice Chancellor was accompanied by Registrar Ms Ankur Mahajan, Dean Academic Affairs Prof Naveen Anand, and Dean Teacher Education Prof. Zubair Kallis.
An exhibition, in collaboration with the college’s MOU institutes, was organized to showcase GCOE’s commitment to growth, opportunities, and excellence. During the event, the Principal of the College Dr Jyoti Parihar, highlighting the institution’s achievements and future plans.
Dr Rakesh Bharti, Coordinator of the ITEP program, delivered a detailed presentation outlining the college’s functioning, achievements, and ongoing initiatives.
The event featured the release of the college Newsletter and two books authored by Dr Sushma Bala, marking a moment of academic pride for the institution. As tokens of respect, the Vice Chancellor was presented with a shawl and a painting crafted by Ms Harsimran, a B.Ed. student.
In his address, Prof. Chandrasekar appreciated the efforts of the college staff and emphasized the need to focus on key areas requiring attention and development. He assured the college of his commitment to supporting its growth on both national and international platforms.
The event was coordinated by Dr Shalini Rana, Assistant Professor of English, who served as the stage secretary, while the formal vote of thanks was presented by Balwan Singh, Assistant Professor of Hindi.
