VC SKUAST-J visits Krishi Vigyan Kendra Rajouri

JAMMU, June 6: Vice Chancellor , SKUAST-Jammu Dr Pradeep Kumar Sharma visited Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Rajouri and Regional Agriculture Research Station Rajouri for reviewing the ongoing programmes and also to give new impetus to KVK activities for the betterment of farming community.
Dr Sharma, an eminent scientist himself, critically analyzed the research programme of the center and directed the authorities to focus on local problems. He appreciated the activities of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Rajouri and had detailed interactions with the staff. He emphasized that KVK must have outreach to distant farmers and also have its own visibility. He stressed on seed production for the intermediate hills that are well suited to local agro climatic conditions.
Dr Vikas Tandon programme coordinator of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Rajouri gave detailed presentation on KVK activities in the district.
Dr K S Risam, Director Extension also gave instructions to the KVK to adopt new technologies and spread among farmers.
Later, the VC also chaired meeting of district officers of the line department where he discussed the launching of National Mission on Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA) in Budhal block. The meeting was held in Koteranka.
