VC SRTC calls on Union Minister, projects demand for buses

NEW DELHI, Feb 6: Vice Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation Haji Pervez Ahmad today called on Union Minister of State, Urban Development, Hardeep Singh Puri, and discussed several issues envisaging further streamlining of working of the Corporation including providing of additional transport facility to the commuters within and outside Jammu and Kashmir.
Vice Chairman urged upon the Minister to provide 150 buses for the public convenience in urban areas under JNURM scheme to augment public transport system. He also urged upon the Minister to allow JKSRTC buses to operate from present location at 1st Raj Pura Road, Tis Hazari or provide an alternate space at some other suitable place.
Vice Chairman reiterated that JKSTRC is catering to the people who cannot afford air transport, therefore, it should be equipped properly and made fully operational.
The Minister assured full support in providing all the required facilities to the JKSTRC.
