UDHAMPUR, May 23: A Village Defense Committee (VDC) member committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle (303) at his house in village Dudu, late last night.
Reports said that VDC member Gulam Mohamed alias Babu Din (45), son of Mohamed Munshi of village Dudu, shot himself with his service rifle 303 under mysterious circumstances. On hearing the sound of gun shot, the family members rushed to the spot and shifted the injured VDC member to PHC Dudu where doctors declared him as brought dead.
The family members were clueless about the cause of provocation behind the extreme step by the deceased. Dudu Police has registered the case under section 174 RPC and started investigations in this regard.
