RAJOURI, Jan 6: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajouri, Mohd Aslam today said that Village Defence Committees (VDCs) have been strengthened in different areas and special training camps are also being held to train the VDC members.

Talking to media-persons here today SSP Rajouri said all the VDCs are provided with weapons after proper check up and non- functional weapons will be replaced with new one. The process is going on at Police Station level and they will be trained properly.
District Police chief further said that a large area is still under CASO and security forces including Police, Army and others on job to nab the terrorist who killed innocent persons in Rajouri and security forces will neutralize them shortly.
SSP told that additional security forces will be deployed in sensitive areas inhabited by minorities, near forest areas and on infiltration routes in the district.
He said those involved in Dhangri carnage where six innocent civilians were killed will not be spared at any cost. He also appealed the people not to believe on rumours and in case they have any information they can contact with PCR Rajouri and the Control Room established for the same and told that if any one have information about those involved in Dhangri killing they will be rewarded with cash prize and their name will be kept secret.
