JAMMU, June 14: Ved Sharma, co-incharge of BJP All Cell, Jammu and Kashmir, today met with Hamesh Manchanda, Chief Engineer of the Jal Shakti (PHE) Department and discussed the pressing issue of drinking water scarcity affecting residents in Panchayat Chowadi, located within the Jammu South-R S Pura constituency.
During the meeting, Ved Sharma conveyed the severe hardships faced by the local population due to the lack of drinking water supply. He emphasized the urgent need for immediate action to alleviate the distress of affected residents.
The senior BJP leader urged the Chief Engineer to expedite the activation of two crucial tube wells located at Delni Kashana and Noora Colony. These tube wells, once operational, are expected to significantly improve the water supply in the area and provide much-needed relief to the residents.
He requested that the Jal Shakti Department ensure a consistent supply of drinking water through water tankers to the affected areas until the tube wells become fully functional. This temporary measure is vital to mitigate the water scarcity crisis and address the immediate needs of the residents.
The Chief Engineer, Hamesh Manchanda assured Ved Sharma to resolve the issue on priority basis. He assured to prioritize the operationalization of the tube wells at Delni Kashana and Noora Colony without any further delay. He also promised to arrange for regular water tanker deliveries to Panchayat Chowadi until the long-term solution is in place.
