LEH, Aug 23: To mark 57th Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) Day, an AWWA meet was organized by Leh Sub Area under the aegis of Fire and Fury Corps at Rinchen Auditorium, wherein Veer Naris were honoured.
The Event was graced by a large number of Veer Naris and Army Widows belonging to the Union Territory of Ladakh. The Meet was inaugurated by officiating zonal president, AWWA, Fire and Fury Corps, Meenakshi Rathore.
On the occasion, special recorded messages from Archana Pande (president, AWWA) and Sunita Dwivedi (Regional president, AWWA, Northern Command) were screened. The officiating zonal president, AWWA, Fire and Fury Corps honoured the Veer Naris, Army Widows and the winners of AWWA ‘Award for Excellence’ for their contributions towards improvement in quality of life of soldiers and their families.
Awareness and Information Stalls were also established during the meet to provide first hand information of various welfare schemes and facilities available through Indian Army, Central Government and Administration of of Ladakh.
