JAMMU, Mar 4: Senior PDP leader and former Minister Abdul RehmanVeeri has appealed the Government to make elaborate arrangements for the Kashmiri Pandits living in various camps and other non camp localities in Jammu on the occasion of Maha Shivratri falling on March 6.
Veeri has also made an appeal to Governor, N N Vohra in this regard and urged him to issue directives to administration that all essential commodities are made available to the Kashmiri Pandits in camps and non camp localities like walnuts, flowers and vegetables.
Veeri also asked Government to ensure uninterrupted power supply as well as water supply on two times a day in camps on the occasion of festival. He said since Kashmiri Pandits have a tradition of celebrating Maha Shivratri in a unique way the Government should make all necessary arrangements for the same. He also demanded that a proper check be maintained on the prices of essential commodities.
The former Minister expressed grave concern over non availability of ration in ration ghats in various migrant camps and urged the Government to ensure its supply on war footing basis as he has received many calls from the migrants putting up in various camps at Jammu that there was total scarcity of ration in ration ghats in migrant camps and the ration of February was not released so far.
