Veeri, Band seek lifting of restrictions in Pulwama

JAMMU, Feb 21: PDP MLAs today voiced concern over restrictions enforced by the administration in Pulwama district of the Kashmir Valley causing harassment and inconvenience to the people.
Raising the issue in Legislative Assembly during start of the Question Hour, PDP MLA Mohammad Khalil Band said the authorities have enforced restriction in Pulwama, which were causing harassment to the people.
PDP Deputy Legislature Party leader Abdul Rehman Veeri endorsed his party colleague saying the killing of a militant had taken place at Pakharpora and there was no need for restrictions at Pulwama.
Mr Veeri urged Speaker Mubarak Gul to pass a direction to the Government to lift instructions at Pulwama.
“Why the people of Pulwama are being harassed’’? he asked.
