SRINAGAR, Nov 12: Min-ister for R&B and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rehman Veeri, today conducted an extensive tour of various parts of Anantnag district to take stock of the progress of various ongoing developmental projects.
Accompanied by DDC Anantnag Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Chief Engineer R&B, MD, JKPCC and other concerned officers, Veeri inspected construction of Trauma Hospital, Larkipora-Dooru bridge, Medical College Diyalgam, District Hospital, District Court and Dak Bungalow and received the feed-back on the progress of these projects from the concerned agencies.
He directed the executing agencies to speed up the pace of work on Trauma Hospital and complete the project in stipulated time. He also instructed for completing the work on approach road to the hospital within a week’s time.
While inspecting the work on Larkipora-Dooru-Veerinag Bridge which was washed away in September-2014 floods, he was informed that Rs 3.64 crore have been spent on the project till date and work is near completion. He asked the authorities of JKPCC to submit DPR for 170 meter double lane bridge to be constructed under CRF at an estimated cost of Rs 20 crore.
The Minister was informed that the Medical College in Diyalgam is coming up at an estimated cost of Rs 120 crore for which the work will be started soon as necessary formalities have been completed. He instructed for immediate construction of boundary wall around the College premises.
While taking appraisal of construction of District Hospital Anantnag being constructed at a cost of Rs 57 crore, the  Minister directed the concerned executing agencies to speed up the work so that additional block of the hospital is completed well in time. He also directed for undertaking immediate repair of boundary wall of the hospital.
The Minister also inspected the ongoing renovation and repair works of the District Court Complex. He directed for face-lifting and beautification of the Court complex, besides preparing DPR for construction of other allied works.
Later, the Minister visited Dak Bungalow Anantnag to inspect the work on Conference Hall there. He directed the concerned agencies to ensure that all necessary facilities are kept available at the Conference Hall.
