SRINAGAR, Aug 19: A four-member delegation of Veerwan Pandit Colony Committee, Baramulla today met with the Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha who was on a visit to Baramulla.
During the meeting, carried out in the presence of District Magistrate Baramulla, Dr G. N. Itoo, the issues such as the construction of concrete accommodation, living cost of rented employees and inter-district transfer of employees were discussed.
They informed the LG that the transit camp wherein they are living with their families are almost damaged and the life of the quarters is almost over.
It was requested to the LG that the construction of concrete 2BHK quarters in district Baramulla shall be put on the fast track
Further, it was also said that there are around 40-50 PM’s Package employees who are living on rent basis in district Baramulla.
“As such employees are paying huge amount of about 10-15 thousand per month rent for their living,” the delegation said.
They requested the LG that such employees should be adjusted in Govt accommodations, or shall be given additional remuneration.
On inter-district transfer of employees, the LG was told there are many PM’s Package employees working in district Baramulla got married in other districts of Kashmir Division.
Many of such employees have got transferred on deployment basis and many employees are working in their own district leading to a division of one family into multiple.
“It is to make a provision so that such employees should get transferred to their respective districts permanently as per their choices, as their family life has got very much disturbed,” the delegation said.
The delegation was comprised of Ms Prerna, Rakesh Roshan, Rajinder Bushan, and Avtar Bhat.
