RAJOURI, Mar 19: A private vehicle loaded with Government ration was seized by police in Rajouri and a case under Essential Commodities Act have been registered in Dharamsal police station.
Giving details SSP Rajouri Chandan Kohli said that a team of police headed by SHO Dharamsal Amit Singh under the supervision of SDPO Nowshera, Zakir Shaheen Mirza and Additional SP Nowshera GL Sharma was on routine patrolling on Jammu-Rajouri highway when a vehicle No. JK02BD/ 6305 was signalled to stop for routine physical frisking at Balshama.
28 bags of Government ration (50 kilograms each) was recovered from the possession of Suresh Chander, son of Jagdish Raj, resident of Balshama.
The loaded ration is meant for Government supply on subsidized rates but the said person failed to produce any valid documents for the ration after which he was arrested on the spot. Ration has also been seized and vehicle taken into possession by police.
A case FIR No. 21/2020 under sections 409/411/109 IPC and 3/7 Essential Commodities Act has been registered in Dharamsal Police Station. Further investigation was in progress.
