Srinagar, June 12: Gulmarg Development Authority (GDA) during its routine check today sealed a truck carrying construction material which was being taken to Khyber Resort situated at the world-famous ski-resort Gulmarg in total violation of the High Court directives.
As per GDA officials, a load carrier vehicle bearing registration number JKO4G-0872 was found carrying the unauthorized construction material of structural steel of various sections.
They said that the vehicle loaded with the construction material was caught by the employees of GDA at Gulmarg at 11:30 am and was immediately confiscated.
On being questioned, the officials told Excelsior, the driver was unable to produce any valid permission document for carrying the said material.
The vehicle has been handed over to the police station, Gulmarg for further necessary action and for lodging an FIR in this regard.
“All photographic/videography has been recorded and shall be produced as and when required by this office,” the GDA said, adding that all the concerned have been informed about the seizure.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) GDA Inam-ul-Haq Siddiqui told Excelsior that they won’t allow any kind of construction in Gulmarg in violation of the direction of the High Court and those found violating the norms will be brought to book.
