Vehicle falls into gorge, 2 killed

RAMBAN, Mar 5: Two persons lost their lives after the vehicle they were on board fell into a deep gorge at Battery Chasma in Ramban district.
Sources informed that the ill fated vehicle of Tata Sumo make bearing registration number JK14-9874 (Taxi Cab) was on way to Kashmir from Sangaldan, Ramban when the driver failed to negotiate a sharp curve en-route after which the vehicle fell into a 150 meters deep gorge on NH-44 at 12.30 am.
After getting information about the mishap SHO Police Station Ramban, Vijay Kotwal along with the rescue team rushed to the spot and started rescue operation and after hectic efforts two critically injured persons travelling in the vehicle were shifted to District Hospital Ramban where they were declared as brought dead by the doctors.

The deceased persons were identified as Hakam Din, 25, son of Abdul Rehman and Tariq Ahmed, 32, son of Abdul Rashid, both residents of village Dalwa, Sangaldan.
Police has registered a case in this regard in FIR number 48/224 under relevant Sections at Police Station Ramban and started investigation.
It is pertinent to mention here that yesterday in a similar road accident in Ramban district four persons were killed and three others were injured.
